I’m sure you’ve heard of “Eat the Frog” (do the hardest task first) but that never works for me. I follow this lady on Insta (she’s also on Tiktok) and she’s got some great tips. The process she describes here is exactly how I address analysis paralysis (not being able to start a task).

Hoping to get in touch with #Peraton recruiter! I have about 9 months left in Air Force where I work in cyber defense and vulnerability management, have a BA in cybersecurity, sitting for CISSP and have lots of certs. Would love to chat with someone about opportunities. Hold a clearance and could technically start in 7 months. Any help is appreciated!! Thank you.

Thank you for sharing! I don't approach it this structured but this is super cute! I tend to find myself doing the easier or more creative tasks first which can help me build the momentum to do the bigger things. Hand-writing what I need to do and starting small is what tends to have the most success for me. Sometimes if things feel really daunting I put on really familiar music or movies so my brain is stimulated enough to Do Things™️ but not so overstimulated that I fixate on them instead of work. Having a system is absolutely the key!

I definitely do easy tasks first. It can take me up to an hour of warmup, like checking email, organizing files, planning my day - before diving in to something big. Then I break it down and time block.
Thanks for sharing. I do use pomodoro sometimes as well.
