I keep trying to recruit at non targets. Nice, cheap, grateful! Can't beat that for quality talent.
Your most important consideration should be succeeding. I assure you that when I (as a managing partner) see MBA I want that person to prove why their MBA won’t guide their behavior not that it will. MBAs by definition need a stable income to pay loans and in most cases they all excel at advice and talk talk talk. I look for (in this order, as do my c-suite clients) hunger and drive, intelligence, curiosity, a desire to create the new and break existing models and then where you happened to be educated (which was mostly studying old case studies). Network cannot be underrated for a great school or MBA but that old golf course approach will die quickly in today’s environment that we and our clients face. Work hard, be smart, be assertive, you will rise. Period.
List of target schools please?
Did recruiting
Thanks OP. Nope for me, but we have a good football team😂
OP, there are a lot more target schools than that. HSW aren't even on that list.
Agree.. not trying to make a point. Just pointing in the right direction for someone who doesn’t know what a target school is.
You sound pretty young OP so I’ll give you a break but once you get out of school and collect all your degrees from the places that let you in for free you stop caring which schools are “target” or not (unless you’re in recruiting which I am not).
Yeah op. I’m at one of those on the list and can confirm there are many more than that

@M1 good for you! Probably this isn’t a thread for you then ?
I went to non target state school and Webster for my MBA and I am crushing it. My husband went to Ivy league for undergrad and MIT for grad school and works for the government and loves his job and does well and could kill it in consulting but doesn’t want the long hours. I think everyone can be successful if you work hard and are honest!
No MBA, no debt
@c1 which online school?
🙌🏻
Went to an ordinary German public state university. 0 debt, actually managed to make more money than I spent.
It's actually not that much more difficult to get into consulting once you know you want to, it's just that no one approaches you so you have to take the first steps

Went to non target, worked in high tech for 3.5 years. Then joined consulting at a Big 4, then later Accenture. It's definitely possible.
@KPMG, I was non-target and got the same offer as all entering C1s
Non-target, got into big four as a manager three years ago, now making three times my starting B4 salary in industry
Does coming through campus recruiting equate to target?
Non target. A little debt but not crazy. Killing it.
