Interviewing a strategist for my account (not in my domain and wouldn’t report to me). What kinds of questions do I ask?

Wondering if anyone can share the approximate timeline after applying to Target Corp. to hearing something from them. Applied 9/1 and on the applicant portal the status still says “in progress.” I got a great internal referral, but I’ve not reached out to the hiring manager. 😬 I know there were a few hundred applicants — what’s a realistic timeline and what could I say to the hiring manager if I reach out to them. One thing we've been getting a lot of feedback about is recruiter "ghosting". While we try to avoid having anyone feel like they're not being communicated with, sometimes emails end up in spam folders, and sometimes things just take longer than expected. It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better.
