Is there any place to get reliable, low-cost adult ADHD testing? I have insurance, but I don't think this is covered, or not fully. Anecdotally I have heard that getting a diagnosis costs thousands of dollars.

Not sure what you mean really by testing, I just talked with my psychiatrist a few times and they were like yeah you have adhd here are your options for it

like

Whoa, okay--that's a good idea! I never thought of that route for some reason.

Look up neuropsych testing in your area. Cold call each hit you get and give them your insurance. Ask them whether they take your insurance and also ask for an estimate in terms of billing. It’s time to renew healthcare so you could benefit from an FSA or HSA to pay for testing - just make sure the fsa isn’t limited to dental and eye stuff. Good luck!

my psych prescribed one that was $100 just to have it on record for insurance so they would approve med payments. it was a remote rest

You could contact a local college, specifically the student services or student disabilities department and ask them who they get evaluations from in the area. Students who do not enter with a recent evaluation have get one to receive services at the college. They may have a good idea on who does this in your area.

Hey so like - newfound reason for my procrastination since I got on Ritalin - a tendency towards "putting things off so I can enjoy the hyperfocus later". When I just started taking the meds I was super effective for a few weeks but now my brain seems to be figuring out ways around the drugs 🤦🏻‍♀️ any ideas on how to not fall back into procrastination behaviours?

Hi! I’m a young professional with less than 2 years experience, started a new job 1.5 months ago. I’m having quite some difficulties on balancing out my response time to tasks. While I act incredibly fast if not immediately with some, I sometimes take 1-2 weeks with couple of hours worthy ones. Sometimes I ignore, procrastinate or simply other more urgent things come up to increase the delay. Also I work with 3 managers in my team which doesn’t help with expectations nor guidance. Any tips pls?

I have tried absolutely everything I can think of to limit distractions during the work day and none of it has worked. Working from home has only made it 100 times worse because now I know there are other more interesting things to be distracted by all around me. What do you do to hold focus during working hours? What will get me to be able to work for longer than 35 minutes without getting distracted?

When it is not an urgent or time bound task, I tend to not finish tasks but my mind wanders to some other tasks. How do you stay on task ? Would love to hear your suggestions. Thank you!
