Burn out. Maybe a little Wellbutrin
Hahaah!! That’s why I quit cannabis, same effect at this age

Try to make it a game where you can. In extreme funks I also lock up my phone, kill my browser, open my inbox, and prohibit daydreaming. I get so bored after 5 min that work is more stimulating…

Thanks everyone! I have to work on a Sunday and am not feeling it. I put some food in the oven and set a timer for my food and challenged myself to hurry up and finish a section of the work I owe a senior associate before the timer could go off. It worked. I got the work out, and the persnickety AH senior associate doesn’t seem irritated with me for once).
However time will tell how long this method works. Seems once the novelty of something wears off my brain starts dragging
and that isn’t like me. I’ve never been an early riser, but wow. I’ve also had some physical health issues that are known to contribute to fatigue, but I normally can motor through and will out of guilt/desire to people please.
I’m not sure what’s wrong with me or how to get out of this funk.
How much do you sleep on weeknights? And how much on weekends?
I would find a psychologist who does a whole intake testing kind of thing. The hours and the burnout can cause sleep dysregulation. But the sleep dysregulation is also correlated with other things that could be going on. Especially if you had such a severe reaction to Wellbutrin there could be something chemical going on
That kind of schedule/cycle makes sense. You might still want to get checked out. Things don’t always get better on their own. Usually good to be proactive, especially when performance is so important
Sounds like burnout and a reset is needed. Can you take time off?
I’ve been taking off random Monday’s or Friday’s 2 or 3 times in the last couple of months so I can have 3 day weekends. I sleep most of the 3 days… like probably spend far more hours asleep than I am awake. So far it hasn’t helped. Maybe I need an extended vacation
If relevant, I’m coming off a period of more than a year of billing 200+ hours a month most months and also took another jurisdiction’s bar exam while doing those hours. But it’s been at least 9 months since the exam, and I have had light hours since mid December.
Been struggling with similar issues and it turns out my testosterone levels were essentially 0. Might be worth checking you’re a guy.
Thanks P1!!
