Sure, be respectful and specific about the problems and attempted solutions. Don’t cast blame on your partner.
Doubtful this is the first time there’s been a mismatch in the experience of your bosses.
Have you tried talking respectfully to your art partner first? To see if there’s a better way to communicate?
If that doesn’t work, if you have a good relationship with your ACD or CD, have a conversation with them. But you also need to be prepared that you may be stuck with this AD.
OP: Letting them take the lead on presentations isn’t a good idea either. You should own your work throughout the process. I suggest talking to your supervisor ASAP. If that doesn’t work, you may have to consider switching teams or brands.
I think we’ve all been in this situation. The good news is that it sounds like it’s not a permanent partnership.
That being said, I think you should try to hash it out amongst yourselves and chalk it up as a challenge. As long as you’re hitting milestones and addressing feedback, your CD might not have a reason to switch you out—especially if it’s for a short-term assignment. Good luck!
Consensus seems to be that this is not a unique situation and many creatives have encountered this, which is a relief to hear. Appreciate everyone's advice!
