Why don’t you use this time to learn how to cook? There are very simple recipes that you can start with.
“Use the time”?? What time would that be? Between work, home school and no housekeeper I have less time than I did before 😡. I’m so tired of hearing about all the great activities you can do from home because I have no time for any of it.
Instant ramen noodles cooked:
1) then drained and sautéed with frozen veggies and egg(s), soy sauce, peanut butter, ginger, and garlic
2) Cooked in chicken broth with defrosted veggies and eggs (crack in raw, let boil with noodles)
2a) Western European style: season with salt, pepper and any combo of the following: thyme, basil, sage, rosemary, garlic, onion
2b) Asian (ish) style: pepper, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, onion
2c) Tex-Mex (ish) style: salt, pepper, garlic, onion, lemon or lime juice, Chile or chipotle powder. Add in a few spoons of salsa or pico de Gallo if you feel like it
2d) Cuban style (kinda...don’t tell my Tía): garlic, onion, olive oil, lime juice, salt, pepper, and bay leaves
Thanks! I’ve loved cooking since I was really little. Dad and I used to watch Alton Brown Good Eats together. Now we watch Good Eats Reloaded when I’m visiting 😄
Tell me a few things you like to eat, maybe I can help you start cooking something simple.
Seconded! 🙋🏻♀️
There are recipes out there where you can just put together certain things and let it all cook in a pot or in an oven w/o need for any meticulous preparation or process. This is the best time to hone your skills in the kitchen.
Mix in some of those microwavable bags of vegetables and eat them with Tabasco sauce or red pepper flakes. You will be back to feeling good in no time
I made Mac n cheese with chopped up hot dogs and that was probably my favorite meal in like the last two months.
Shits good. Nostalgic. 🤷♂️
You would be bff's with 7 year old me
Also, salads require very little skill. You can get chopped veggies and precooked meat
I can cook but my wife cant; however, she's recently used Hello Fresh and I'm really impressed with the meals. It also inherently teaches people how to cook but also helps people get comfortable with ingredients and cooling techniques. Highly recommend these type of meal services (hello fresh, blue apron, etc.)
I don’t like to cook and I’m not very good at it. But if you get chicken tenders or thin chicken cutlets coat them in a little bit of egg and then breadcrumbs and fry them. Then drop them into a couple of cans of Progresso minestrone soup in a pot. Add some red wine vinegar for Tang. Let it cook on low in there for a while and put it over pasta. Super Duper easy and really tasty.
I’m just thinking of all the money your saving!!
Everyone saying the same thing. 😂
Pop an addy, no meals needed.. productivity through the roof

No recipe needed
That vegan Alfredo is amazing!!! So garlic-y, sooo good
Do simple stuff and then work you way up. There are things out there that only requires 30 mins. Now it’s the time to learn. Good luck
There are good lessons on You Tube
Just buy a slow cooker. You can put ingredients in there, stir it and let it cook for hours. Prep in the morning. Stop eating like a college kid
And it’s hard to go wrong with a frozen veggie blend, eggs, and salsa. Put the veggies in the pan first to defrost them, then add the eggs and salsa and cook them all together. Quick, cheap, easy, and healthy.
Everyone is capable of cooking and driving a car. Everyone. All advices here are legit. You need to buy maybe free cooking appliances and lessgo!
Baked chicken is easy and will last a couple of days. Season it well, chop onions, peppers if you have them add minced garlic. You can eat with your ramen, mac and cheese, etc. And chicken is cheap. Also, buy 5 minute rice in a bag and frozen veggies.
