I'm approached by the AP recruiter and in the final interview process for an SVP role (digital practice).
Already have two other offers (Strategy @ Walmart, 300K TC, and Marketing@ Amazon, 220K TC). 10 YOE
1. Will AP's SVP TC be higher than $300K? What's the breakdown?
2. Would you choose AP over Strategy @ Walmart or Marketing @ Amazon?
3. How difficult is it for new parents? I still want to spend time with my newborn.

Unlimited PTO is well-known to be a scam so I wouldn’t view that one as a good option.
young family? got with 401k.
unlimited pto is BS.
older fam? go with health insurance.
Health insurance can make a huge difference, talking $10-12K a year gross.
Unlimited PTO is not really a benefit over normal good PTO allowance…
Unless you work for a British or European company, it’s a scam.
Single? Married? Kids? How old? State of residence? Need some context
My priorities are in this order…
1. the people i’m working with
2. the work I’m doing
3. the compensation
I have to believe the people I’ll be working with are smarter than me, offer relationships that will help me grow. This is a deal breaker. I have to find the work satisfying. Also, a deal breaker. Finally compensation, I am flexible.
If somehow 1 & 2 are equally satisfying, and you are truly deciding strictly on comp, do the math and go for the biggest number.
PTO is fairly standard, “unlimited” is a joke. Professional development budget is nice, but unless you’re going for MBA, I wouldn’t over value this benefit. Exceptional health insurance and generous 401k match are most appealing, IMO.
If you are planning on growing family, I’d go with best parental leave benefit. That has been the game changer for me.
How did the interviews go? Think about your day to day working with the managers you interviewed with. Benefits packages can always be negotiated. Read online reviews of the companies and determine the best culture fit for you. If you have children, consider the hours you’d be working and how demanding each position is.
Agree that unlimited pto is scammy. As someone with 2 young kids, I'd go with great health insurance with low premiums, assuming other things are at parity. You could also try to nudge/negotiate a benefit that doesn't suit your need. But also agree with others. Which work environment, which culture feels the best?
$$. All the top firms have great benefits.
