I’ve very fortunate to have a new job. I wanted WFH, but I guess it wasn’t in the cards. Do you think people who work from home are that much happier?

It depends on the person. I like a mix, days where I can introvert and focus on a specific project while wearing leggings and drinking coffee from my favorite mug AND days were I can feel the buzz of the office and interact with the people we serve. I like the flexibility to WFH when I have a sick child or repair person but I like talking to coworkers and the insights that happen from those off the cuff conversations.

I agree with D1. Don’t forget the little things that can make office work more relaxing though… like bringing in your favorite mug to drink out of at work.

Who knows with the new role there may be changes in a few months/ years where you can work from home a day or two a week.

I will never go back to an office. I’m more productive at home, and I tend to get more done. My work is always 100% completed, and I don’t always have to work a 40 hour week to accomplish that. I clean during breaks and don’t have to spend my weekends catching up on household chores either. It’s my perfect scenario.

Seems to me, after so many worked from home during the pandemic, that no one wants to take medical coding positions that are not remote. Everyone enjoyed being a home, now it’s become the goal.

Not necessarily…hard to separate home from work

It depends on the person. I know someone who loves it because she can get so much done at home as she has 2 kids and if they need to stay home from school she doesn’t miss work. However, I know someone else who misses the face-to-face interactions. She really struggles and it’s taking a toll on her mental health. Make sure it’s something you truly want to do and make sure you balance your time.

I work 4/10’s, from home 3 and at the office one day a week. I think some people thrive with WFH and others do not for whatever reason. I think the most important offer is flexibility in schedules so each person can create what works for them.

Yes and more productive.

It depends on the person. I have the option to WFH and hated it. My other half loves it and is full time WFH.

Honestly I’d feel isolated but my friend loves it

My husband works from home and he likes it but he also sometimes feels cooped up.

I love working from home! It’s the best thing ever but honestly it all depends on the person. Some think they prefer WFH until they do it then it’s a different story but I personally love it

I feel it really depends on the person. I would love to work from home, but I know I would have to have a lot in place for my mental health.

Maybe maybe not it all depends on what you like

Working from home is not for everyone. There are some people who are disciplined enough to stay in task and remain productive and some that are not.

As for happiness, it depends on the person and the type of work. If the job requires a lot of collaboration and/or mentorship, working from home can be more challenging.

As a leader, I prefer talking to people in person, not via electronics. It’s challenging to express and receive emotions (without having to write a novel) via electronic media.

in a way yes.

Yes!

Yes I am

Wondering myself

Morning all. I am looking for a favour/solid advice. I've been in the interview process for a dream role over the past month or so and just found out I didn't get the job after final round 🙃.

Unfortunately this isn't the first time this has happened during the past year searching. Looking for a SC level role within healthcare/public sector consulting firm. I know the job scene is a bit miserable currently but if anyone in the bowl is aware of a role I would love to have a chat.

Thanks all

I got hired as a BA, at an advisory firm. Im new to the industry and new to the role. I see that every BA is different in different companies. Right now I’m building out SOP’S for our different departments, as well working with clients guiding them through our pipeline. I get to Analyze data every now and then to help make business decision, but there’s less emphasis on this. What tools or resources should I be utilizing to help myself grow and keep pushing. This company is young and growing.

Had an interview for an associate position at Citi. Interviewee was based in London and I’m in NYC. The only interview time that worked was 6am. I was barely functioning and feel like I truly messed up in my answers because I couldn’t not think clearly. I have another with the head of the division next week again at 6am (pre determined before this interview). It was also hard because the division’s core work is private enough that there was not much prep I could do beforehand. Tips?

Hi everyone,
I want to learn Salesforce Tableau CRM (formerly known as Einstein Analytics) and switch to a different organisation. In my current company stuck in a project where there's no learning scope, no growth and work culture is toxic. Now I'm only going through Trailhead, YouTube playlist videos and practicing hands on in my free personal org. Are these enough to crack interviews or not? I don't have real-time project experience.

Hi I have a question. I have been in media for television and radio for 20 years. I am looking to pivot to tech and I have an interview next Friday with a recruiter. It is for an executive broadcast booker position at Meta. There is no salary listed for this position or no previous salary history on glassdoor. I did find a salary listing but for Colorado and the minimum is 217,000. If I am questioned about what am my salary expectations; if i said 28000 is that too much & will that scare them.

I no longer have access to the Microsoft bowl due to the change in work email address, so I thought I'd see if any Microsoft management (former or current) are in here. I'm looking to confirm that when potentially coming back on at Microsoft, the hiring manager will be able to see my previous connects. I had a great experience at Microsoft, and would like to keep that door open in my mind, though my last connect has what I would call unfair characterizations due to a unique chain of events.
