Just another work day where I’m struggling to stay awake and focus 😔 my medication still hasn’t been refilled. Are other people still feeling the shortage?

I was feeling it pretty badly and my doctor switched me to Dyanavel because of the shortage of Adderall. When I was waiting for the switch, I was drinking a ton of regular coffee or espresso drinks to help. It didn’t help as much but it helped a bit.

Another thing that helps me is timers - 20-60 mins working, 5 mins break.

I also start on the easiest part of the task - once I can make myself do the easy part, I’m in the groove and it’s easier to do the harder part. (For example, I hate doing proposals but I don’t mind the part of them where you build out the team and I like the pricing part of it. I start with those pieces and then work my way towards the experience piece, references, and methodology).

I hope this helps

There is no end in sight for the shortage. :( i actually have narcolepsy in addition to adhd. My life is a dumpster fire rn without the right meds. McKinsey, are you in the US? I may have some advice on pharmacies if you can PM me .

If you're finding it difficult to stay awake and focus, consider taking short breaks, staying hydrated, and practicing mindfulness techniques to help manage your energy and concentration levels. Shortages suckkkkk

Additional Posts in ADHD Consultants

I recently got diagnosed with ADHD. I'm 31 and found this only because b school and post mba consulting job was/is much more challenging than anything I did before. What I'm confused about is that even as a teenager I could read entire books overnight. But the last two years of high school I started selectively zoning out and the problem has become worse since. I just realised it now. My doctor has suggested treating depression (I was also unaware of this) with Wellbutrin first (contd)

I have not been diagnosed with ADHD. I definitely fit some of the characteristics that go unnoticed in females. The good news is if i do have ADHD, it makes me quite good at my job as I’m very flexible and can provide positive energy to my patients. Anyway, my boss has told me I have ADHD multiple times. It seems rude when she says it, and she follows it up with “I say that because I love you” which i feel is so unprofessional all around. Anyone have guidance on how to handle this?

Anyone else have a need to exercise daily? A lot of people judge me in a negative way and in reality it is because my ADHD brain needs it. 1) the consistency for schedule 2) exercise can help tone down the symptoms before I sit down for the work day 3) it is the only thing I can control to make it look like I am not a mess (disorganization, interrupting) - basically trying to stay in the game at work based on perception of “having it together”. Just wondering if anyone faces the challenges.
