Last month I got laid off as a SA in M&A Tax. I haven’t really come across any openings in this area given the current economic environment. I have a finance and tax law background. Anyone have any suggestions of other areas I can look for a new job?

Looks like they only have tax controversy positions in Texas. Do you know what the compensation looks like?

Bdo has opening in certain locations. Where are you located

Good luck with BDO! If you do get an offer and feel comfortable sharing, I’d love to here BDOs offer compared to what you were making at pwc. Best of luck in the job search

Asset Management SALT compliance

JDs in Big4 usually work in International tax or M&A tax. Doing compliance in international tax sucks, but JDs should be doing a mix of tax planning and compliance. Its better than no job or doing shitlaw.

Doesn’t matter to me. Either works

Hello everyone, I just joined this bowl and have a very basic question. I have a humanities background in terms of academics which means I haven't studied maths or cs as a subject since high school. I'm currently working as an Analyst and recently graduated with a degree in BA Economics and History. I need to know if 1. it's possible for me to transition to a PM role in the next 4 years and 2. if yes, how? Thanks already for reading this far, have a good day!

I was alone and confused. I have never really got the chance to prove myself which makes me all the more depressed. I'm not sure what to do with my future, indecisive and low on confidence.

So I had 3 deals scheduled to either close end of May or mid June which were all pushed to end of June/beginning of July. Which is when I have my first vacation planned for over a year (I take 0 time off). My whole family is flying up and we’re renting a cabin near me. What do I do? I’m running one of the deals, semi running the other one and not doing much leading on the other one. Note: I was supposed to not be running any of these. Do I find a back up first or tell the partners first?

As a law student interested in going into the field I’ve seen a lot of negative comments saying that only lawyers who couldn’t get into big law go into PA. Although I know most people try to get into big law initially, it is very competitive and many don’t stay past 2-3 years. You certainly don’t make as much going into PA as a lawyer but the pay is certainly not bad and the WLB is generally much better.
