Pay at MBB isn't negotiable below partner level. They are probably asking more from a process standpoint. Base and bonus/profit sharing for general consulting staff at C1 is about 200-210k and at manager it is closer to 275-300k. Couldn't tell you for Digital or Mck Solutions but they're probably 30% less. So I think you will see a bump.
Btw - not all ACN MBA strats come in at $145 - it depends on city and past experience. I came in as a manager at $165 in a small Midwest city (not Chicago) but it was because of my past experience and clinical degree. A friend in NYC came in as a consultant at $120K and he had robotics engineering experience. Makes no sense. And this was all in last year.
All of these position salaries are standard; the only variable compensation is bonus. There is no negotiation involved and expected comp will be ~150K base and 40-50K bonus. Base salary is set by position at national level below Partner.
I find it hard to believe there's no variation for cost of living... unless it's built into bonus but that's an odd way of doing it.
No variation for cost of living. People typically choose higher cost of living cities because they want to live there. The South System (and others) would revolt if they tried to pay us less.
Would someone be kind enough to tell me what MBB and MBBA stands for?
Well, I'd be forced to move to NYC. No signing bonus then given I'd be an experience hire?
Haha fair. I'd be fine with not taking this role and staying put. Don't worry about why I'm confident just take me at my word plz.
This post has actually been extremely helpful thank you all besides bain1 and bcg1!
Pay at MBB is the same in every office. Pay bands also don't have that much variability. If you're making a lot more than the normal starting salary for the role you're coming in at, they may try to start you at a higher-than-normal level, but you shouldn't come in at less than the normal starting salary for your level. At 110 now, you should probably expect to come in at the normal starting salary, which will be above that anyway.
And bonuses don't vary by location either
Can I negotiate months at level?... as in, if one has 36 months at level, a promotion or exit should be imminent
MBB is awesome bc everyone gets Strategy salaries and NYC living salaries. Good luck to you
I moved from MC to Strategy within Accenture at Manager level - had to interview for it and got the strategy Manager salary at 170 (from 133). As you know salaries are standardized. You can use your MBB offer to try to move to Accenture Strategy and not loose your level - just a thought. Also the salaries are the same irrespective to location
Do you homework on ACN start salaries - there is some info on here that isn't accurate. Can't disclose how I know this but they do compensate for cost of living and pre MBA experience.
Goddammit I thought I had everything figured out!
M2 strategy here, 170k if that helps
Wow the last partner I spoke with was a huge dick. Rude, very negative feedback throughout, etc. What a shocker because everyone else was so nice and the other interviews were great. Could it be a tactic?
Maybe you did badly
I definitely did poorly. Don't care because the guy was an asshole and would've been my boss.
Whatever he sucks . Things happen for a reason and looks like you dodged a bullet!
So have you heard back yet
