Friend: Instead of IVF, you should try freezing them.
Me: Freezing them?
F: The eggs. It works.
M: That’s part of the IVF process. Optional, but still IVF.
F: No, my other friend did the freezing instead. It worked really well. She’s already pregnant. Just sayin.
F: It’s an option for you to think about.

Not be archaic by using this terminology but I’m a female “breadwinner” and my company was acquired recently and the new health insurance benefit is them paying basically none of the insurance for my spouse and child. Is this the new norm? If so I need a much higher paying job to have the take-home I need.
Thinking to take a trip with my baby when she’s 3.5 months old. Just to get out of the cold. Bad idea?
Is being a realtor a maternity friendly job? I’ve been in residential sales for a year and I’m thinking of starting a family now. How did you manage to run your business and start a family at the same time? How long was your mat-leave for? Is being part of a team better than solo at this stage? Any advice would be appreciated ladies
Unless someone did what this kid did (learning to walk again) don’t post it on LinkedIn.
When was the last time you did something just for yourself? And what was it? We few friends from school met online after a long time. All of us looked well, tired and we all realized we have been so busy looking out for our family and kids and we forgot to prioritize ourselves. This was a group of friends across the globe, so seems like a global problem… It can be simple as working out alone or fancy as going for staycation at airbnb solo (I am not eligible for this since kid refuses to wean!)
Wife asked me what I wanted for Father's Day, I really have no clue... What do you usually ask for or receive?
What are peoples thoughts(pros & cons) of living in a Garden Condo 2500 sq ft(with basement) for a family of 3(1kid) until the kid goes to college.
Or is it better to move to a single family home to give kid more space, big backyard etc. ?
I was at a friend’s. Her and her neighbors are all moms and get together for dinner while the kids play. A father showed up to drop off kid while the mom was busy elsewhere, instead of going about his plans he stayed with us. I felt so much sexual tension with him there its so weird. I was attracted to something about him and i know i had his attention. I could barely look him in the eyes when he would make conversation. I wanted to… you know what. SO WEIRD. Hes not even a 10! Im so confused.
Anyone’s child ever had a belly button hernia? Anything you did to help it go down?
Doctor says to push it back in but it doesn’t stay. They are going to look at it closely next week, but wanted just any other thoughts from this group in the meantime.
y’all doing too much on LinkedIn… comparing having a baby to paying off debt. Great accomplishment but wtf is this post??? It’s so long I’ll have to include second part in another photo
It doesn’t bother me when I hear my current neighbor’s dog barking but it always used to drive me nuts when I would hear my previous neighbors baby! anyone else?
Weaning baby now (he is four months). I have a big freezer stash and it’s in the deep freeze so it will be good until next December. Is the better strategy to constantly give baby some breastmilk every day until I run out (like 8-10 ounces a day or something, mixed with his formula) or is it better to just give formula and save the freezer stash for if/when he gets a cold or something, and then mix it in liberally only then)?
Anyone had to take iron infusion for anemia at 21 weeks? My Hb is low and my OBGYN had me visit a hematologist who put me on infusion. He said its safe for the baby, but I can't keep my worry hat away! Please tell me I am being stupid... First time mommy!!!
What are everyone's thoughts on making the Monthly Child Tax Credit permanent? I think it is an important step to care for the families in our area, but I know not everyone believes in this program
If LinkedIn and Reddit had a child, Fishbowl would be it. Or at least that’s my first impression…Hello All!
Is it just me or was this the most perfect timing to have a kid (in know COVID was out of everyone’s control). Baby was born last March and have had zero FOMO and looking to enjoy life this spring
How does one attend a team dinner when so nauseous? I doubt i can eat a single thing on the menu and I haven't even told my team I am pregnant yet. Its a fancy Chinese place 😐looked the menu and started feeling queasy already. Whyyy🤮🤮🤮
I d have been so excited to go here prior to the pregnancy 😪😪😪
Feeling a little sad and blah today. I’m 9 wks pregnant as per my calculations and apps. Went in for first doc appt and doc saw the sac but no baby. Could my dates be wrong? *sigh*
Ever since moving to hybrid work, my coworkers are always complaining about how much they hate their jobs, how much of a hassle it is to travel or work from home. How can you be expected to do your job when you're just so far away from everything?
3+ years in consulting. Looking for roles in a corporate - corp strategy, corp dev role, leadership rotations, or in a line of business. Want to manage a P/L some years down the line. How should I prepare for interviews? Is it case based or will they grill me on my projects?
Anyone know of any low voltage certifications (cabling, networking…) that are geared more toward commercial applications? Cedia is great but is more on the residential side.
I got a really good offer from Microsoft.
Currently working in TCS with 5.4yoe making around 11 LPA. I am a digital candidate. I have plans to get married this year. I have heard that TCS job is like a government job, should I take the offer from Microsoft as it's paying more than 3 times of what I am making at TCS along with other perks or should I stay back in TCS? Are girls and their families still crazy for semi government TCS employees?

What do you do when you’ve accepted an offer and later realized you not only lowballed yourself on base pay but also didn’t negotiate for other things like a sign on bonus or other things that you really should’ve? I start in a few days, so it’s too late, but is there an opportunity to revisit?
I’m new to FCB health anything I need to know?

Honestly, I’ve never been more disappointed to be an HR professional than in the last couple years. As someone who has heard and experienced the unprofessionalism during the candidate experience, I literally am questioning daily why I went into this line of work. But I tried to stay and impact the change I want to see. I just am really frustrated by an unprofessional HR Director I encountered during an interview.
Do you think you would lose your job if you mistakenly left your work laptop in a Uber ? What would be the consequences ? Trying to retrieve it and hopefully I can get it back . Any advice on how to tell your boss what happened
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
Hi. I'm looking for recommendations for an easy to set up and administer intranet solution that you have used for onboarding.

Does anyone specialize in early retirement packages/buyouts? Do you use standard formulas or is each bespoke? What is typically included? What could be thrown in as beneficial or helpful?

Any insight would be appreciated.
Help with workflow optimization for non-technical HR/administrative teams… I am looking for solutions/tools to optimize global processes for our operations (thinking onboarding, offboarding, communicating between departments as systems are not integrated and constantly digging in and out of email is just ripe for errors. Hi Im looking to apply for HRBP role in a tech company. Any ideas which tech companies i should apply for? Benefits do matter to me as well as a fair compensation.
I’m job hunting in Los Angeles, looking at a variety of titles (HRBP, Sr. HRBP, Manager, Sr. Manager, Director). I have 8 YOE and my SHRM-SCP. I reached my report limit on payscale.com, so I used a variety of other sites to price the roles (BLS, salary.com, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Robert Half). The problem I’m having is the huge inconsistencies between sources (there are $40k differences between some of the identified medians). (Continued…)
I've been in PeopleOps (mostly focused on TA Ops) for over 9 years now. I've somehow gotten by without a degree in HR or a certification, but would like to get some more education to continue to advance my career. What are your thoughts on PHR vs SPHR vs SHRM for someone with my years of experience and current role as a manager?
I’m interested in getting a certificate in HR rather than going the SHRM or HRCI route. Do you believe that Certificates in HR are recognized just the same way as HR certifications?
