Ogilvy peeps what is the policy on bonuses (non C-suite)? Have you received one lately? Not sure if it's regulated as WPP's stupid f'ing raise/promotion cycle.

Curious if there are any others here who work in public accounting and had their start dates delayed from August 2020 to January 2021 because of Covid. Senior is basically guaranteed after 2 YOE from what I’ve heard but because of the delayed start date for our start class we’ll only be at 1.5 YOE this promotion cycle. Do you think they’ll grant them or wait until the end of next performance year?

I finally asked for a promotion at work a month ago and I already changed my mind. It took me years to get to this point and I now realize I don’t want it/deserve it/have any desire to be a higher level doormat. Now I am sliding backwards on all of the efforts I am doing and I just want to retire and be done with it.

What are your views on promotions — should they ALWAYS be driven by the employee (“I want a promotion. How do I make this happen?”) vs. the manager (“I think you’re ready to grow into a new role”)? I recently got a new manager who aligns with my career interests, but both of us are still under my previous manager who treats people as resources. I’m bitter about the upward progress of peers on other teams (w/ better managers), a combo of FOMO + feeling like I’ve failed myself.

I’ve about 2 years of experience as a junior in total, however I was at one company for 9 months, then transferred to another for the remainder (within WPP and the one I transferred to was technically the parent company of the previous one). I have a beautiful ring that my mom specifically wanted me to have in her will, it was the only ring she wore every day (not an engagement ring or wedding ring). She also mentioned numerous times when she was alive how happy she would be to see me wear it eventually. I want to also wear it every day, but it’s pretty valuable and kind of bling-y if that makes sense, definitely noticeable. I’m worried that as a junior associate that might raise some eyebrows but maybe I’m overthinking this?
