Our district is pushing us to adopt new textbooks. We currently have none. Everything we use has been cobbled together from a variety of sources over many years of intense effort. This has probably made us a little over protective of our current resources, and we’ve been thoroughly unimpressed with the options the district has presented. Does anyone out there have textbook recommendations or suggestions?

I am asked to apply for visa for poland, I have a spouse and kid as dependents. On VFS website, visa slots are different for national visa and dependents..so will i have to book visa slot separately for my dependents or can i take my dependents on my visa date.

Really struggling with a few students in my kindergarten class this year and looking for suggestions. I’m teaching summer school at a high school, and the co-principals have asked me to focus on only 2 to 3 chapters worth (what they are calling “2-3 standards” in the eight days of summer semesters. However, they are also asking me to give kids the midterm and/or final at the end of each period, which covers 4-5 chapters each semester. My question is this: “Is it legal by California Ed code for the administration to ask me to teach less than each entire semester, yet test each whole semester?”

I finally was able to convince my principal that we need a consistent math intervention at the MS level (grades 5-8). (Right now, we are just "doing our own thing," which isn't helping students progress much.) Does anyone have any suggestions? It would be beneficial to have some sort of progress monitoring tool as part of the program, if possible. Our classes run roughly 55 minutes (which is too long for an intervention, in my humble opinion).
