I’m super picky and always end up eating at the same 3-5 restaurants which are all relatively cheap, so I love a cash per firm since I end up saving 70-90% of my per diem every day
Depends on the city....sometimes it’s extremely difficult to eat reasonably healthy without easily exceeding for our per diem
Others I’ve been able to pocket way more than half grabbing salads and healthy fast casual
Expensed meals. I don’t want to have to worry about taking an L on my per diem because we get like $42 per day. Not having to worry about a per diem means I can eat whatever is convenient and decent without going out of my way - easier to focus on work and I get to eat better food.
At ACN some MDs will go to bat to get projects accrued expenses in lieu of per diems - MVPs 👏🏻🙌🏻
Not to argue, but I spend about 20 mins at the grocery store once a week and fast on travel day after lunch because the airport food stinks. To each his own.
KPMG’s policy goes by the IRS per diem rates. Much higher than Accenture’s. I end up pocketing on average over $120/week
Up to $65 a month for phone reimbusfe
prefer per diem, can determine how best to spend the money (e.g. le bernardin monday, chipotle tues-thurs), also no receipts to submit
thankfully i do not have to use a corporate card. submitting receipts is a worthwhile burden in exchange for keeping the points.
Per diem definitely, we don't exactly live the healthiest lifestyle and if work was paying for my meals I'd supersize that meal every time. At least with per diem you're encouraged not to blow out your meal
