You can always get a doctor’s note as well
I’m super not into people making pregnancy a disability. If you were at work full time you’d deal with it. Millions of women have. Call in sick if you need to (are you actually doing any work with a migraine? No.) but do not ask for special treatment bc you are reproducing.
Maybe it’s generational and maybe our experiences have just been different. I have had no issues whatsoever getting promoted at work, even after having one baby. I have never felt I am not treated as an equal to my male peers. My performance has spoken for itself and my company treats me well and rewards me. I have also proven I can do my job just as well at home. I am not saying there should be a special rule or treatment for all pregnant women or that it’s a “disability” either. But if I can prevent myself from commuting 90 min there and back so I can take that time to get the extra rest I need during my pregnancy, and also throw up or lie down in the comfort of my home, I’m all for it. I just wanted to hear about others’ experiences and if anyone felt the same as I did. I got a ton more relatable responses to the same post in the Pregnant bowl.
3 days in office may seem “flexible” to those who had their kids pre-pandemic. Esp for those who live very close to their offices too. For us pandemic first time parents, we got used to a certain norm and flexibility, and taking it away has been a very difficult adjustment. I have heard many in my boat voice the same experience.
I have not but my company is not strict. If yours is I would recommend a Dr. note!
