PwC fish, is anyone doing the mega backdoor Roth IRA with the PwC 401k plan? I could use some advice on how to set it up, the complexity of it, other things to watch out for, etc.

Lookup mega backdoor Roth on HQ. There's a PDF that explains the steps really clearly with screenshots. It's pretty streamlined and I do the withdrawal to IRA every paycheck

Where do you search for the file; I couldn’t find it through HQ or fathom

Do a search in the PwC bowl and personal finance bowl. There are a couple post outlining the steps

I can’t imagine it’s appreciably different than a normal MBDR so just bring this to r/FIRE

Invest in 401k post tax hit up benefits express and do it monthly/quarterly/annually

Do you do this evenly across the year or max out pretax first then mbdr for the remainder of the year?

I am planning to do this for the first time this year. I will hit the pretax max in September at current rate then planned to switch and do posttax for the rest of the year.

Are there any pros to staying at a company and getting laid off, vs. proactively looking for a new job and quitting before it happens? I.e., financial (possibility of receiving severance or any other benefits). Or is being laid off just all bad? I don’t know if my job is at risk — I don’t believe it is — but my agency lost some clients and is talking about cost cutting to be safe and get ahead of it. Fwiw, I’m ready for a change anyway.

It's been almost 1 week now and I haven't heard back from the HR I called and was informed the details are shared with other team and they are working on it.
Is it normal ? Does it take really this long for a new start date?

I’m curious how much other people with similar incomes save/invest a year; I’m a 24M, making 70K a year in a HCOL city. Do people tend to age out of wanting to FIRE?

In your 20s-30s, you don’t know much, you’re told what to do, you have few financial resources so you are tied to your job. Under these circumstances it makes perfect sense why you would want to FIRE asap.

But eventually you advance up the ladder, you are now the boss and your people do all the grunt work. You also have built up expertise which makes the job easier. And you are making the best money of your life. FIRE is no longer so pressing.
