Recently let go at EY for “Performance issues”. Was initially dumbfounded as I got “Meets Expectations” + Raise & Bonus in last year end. No PIP but did 1 unsolicited feedback from Counselor resulting in a “Needs to Progress” mid-cycle rating about a month ago (I believe NTP is only issued at year end). I already lined up a role at a former client so not too bothered but what gives?

Hi!! I’m an HR Coordinator currently (about two years of experience) but my job has so many responsibilities and tasks I’m beyond burnt out. It’s truly impossible to focus on one task because things are constantly being thrown my way. I’ve heard whisperings of a promotion or raise, but my workload is already too much, I don’t know if I’d want to accept more responsibility. Is it normal to feel like you have just as many responsibilities as your superiors who make 30k+ more than you?

How is the career in Pursuits in any Big 4? Does it pay as good as core consulting work? How is the work life balance? I want to make a shift from client chargeable work to BD work for better work life balance. Is it worth switching?

After your first job, how relevant is GPA. For context, I went to a school that is very well known for grade deflation (Deloitte had a “suggested” minimum of 3.2 here) and I studied statistics, a particularly rough major at the school. Long story short, GPA was between a 2.9 and 3.0. This wasn’t due to slacking and I’ve done well at Deloitte so far with plenty of experience to speak to. Would my GPA still block me from certain firms, like any of the MBB firms or a Tier 2 consulting firm?
