Appreciate it! I had the same thing happen 3 years ago at another one of the Big4 so it seems lighting does strike twice. Learned lots during my time though.

You didn't fit the pyramid this year, so you got the NTP. Don't overthink the logic—meritocracy isn't really the goal here.
How did you lineup a role so quick?
Definitely very fortunate circumstances; I knew the director personally and kept in touch once in a while. I sent a text to catch up and fortunately he happened to need hands for a software implementation.

Fair enough, although pinning it as underperformance instead of business climate is fairly sleazy.
