S3 currently studying for CISA as I want to transition from internal audit to IT. Reason is, am bored! Reviewing business processes has become boring, am unhappy with the work I do, I don’t feel compensated fairly although I work my ass off.
My dilemma is, am not sure if IT will be a right fit for me, I simply just want to move. I’ve thought of cyber security too. Should I stay on a little while longer to figure out what I really want to do? I feel stuck and demotivated!

I have my CISA and also worked in IT. Are you looking to be in operations side of things or go into IT consultation?

Side note: could you give me some clarity on what an “S3” is?

Senior Consultant level 3

Just do it, in public and in industry you need to understand BOTH

Have CIA and CISA. I’d say IT audit is even more boring than operational.

Lol, cyber security it is then!

What kind of work do you want to do/like to do? Do you have any technical skills?

My options are either go for masters or go for another bachelors in IT/computer science. What could be my other options? Thank you.

A good friend of mine graduated from Parsons this past summer, has degrees in Journalism and French, is a talented photographer and designer (which I feel I have a pretty decent eye for after working at a design-driven branding agency for half a decade). And I’m certain she’d make a fabulous junior AD or content strategist. Unfortunately she, like many in this pandemic, is still without a job. Any advice for her and/or shops/hiring managers/non-traditional job hunt tips to steer her towards?
