Hmm senior manager at big 4 should at least get you senior manager (level 8 at salesforce). Sounds like they brought you in at level 7 based on your comp.
Depends on your goals. Want to do sales and work your way to an exec position in industry? Do big 4. Want better WLB and don’t want to climb the ladder as quickly as possible? Go salesforce.
Coming from someone who recently left big 4 for salesforce
It’s kind of niche so I don’t want to get specific but I’m a manager in the business operations/ program management world
Congratulations! SF would offer a better WLB overall. Big 4 consulting would offer more $$$ but poor WLB, mixed bag when it comes to projects and clients. The good news is that you can't really go wrong in either case.
People are talking about WLB for 40% less pay 😂. I will pay 10$ come & work for me. I will give you full flexible WLB however you wish to be.
P.s. It's just a sarcasm, please don't get offended 🙏🏻. Although I never understand why Salesforce is setting very low standards in terms of pay & excels in other departments. I think they are using SALESFORCE brand name & bringing in good candidates. With lot of hiring going now a days not sure if it will change in any near future. These kind of things have very high chances of bringing down the brand name.
Everyone will have managers in all the companies they can complain about more working hours & try to get it sorted. If it is unreported at higher level then they assume everything is fine & the hardwork goes unnoticed.
Coming to my project (I am part of Salesforce CSG) , I have seen our team working hard even during weekends. So we can't tell how WLB will be in Salesforce as well. Everything depends on the priorities of the customer projects. But 1 thing in Salesforce is that managers take anything which we report seriously & try to fix those things.
There is definitely misalignment in levels. Salesforce CSG actually pays pretty well, close to big4. The offer they gave you is probably a level 7, which is just manager. Level 8 will be much higher.

TA1, I agree. It is even less what I am making currently, but SF has such a big name 😀 , not sure if it is worth it in my case. Only reason I may join them is that I heard SF has a very good CTA coaching program.
Negotiate
Is this after negotiating? My final offer from Salesforce ended up being 15% higher than the original offer because I had a competing offer from a big four.
This was for a level 7 position at SF vs. a Manager position at Big four. My TC (salary+var comp) at SF is slightly above 200k not counting RSU
I understand, but I am hoping that SF can come to a reasonable compromise on the offer and level based on your value in the consulting world. Either way, both are great options and I sincerely congratulate you on the offers! It’s a luxury not many can afford.
Offer seems low for L7. Which location is it? LCOL? And YOE?

Remote role, I live in lcol city

I just think that total comp offered by Salesforce is too low. I was making that same TC at a boutique in LCOL area a few years ago without even having the System Arch cert...
Ya, negotiate should be able to get base up to $175k and/or RSUs to 60-80k. Salesforce will be less and different type of travel then big 4. Also dont sleep on the ESPP and stock appreciation at Salesforce vs no stock at big 4. Pretty common for salesforce stock to double over 4 years...
Coach
S3, the problem is the job level they offered to me, plus I live in a LCOL city. Do you think they will reconsider me for a higher level if I show them two sen job offers I got from B4?
