I pay it daily. All my spend goes on a CC, then I pay that off. Just a good habit honestly.
Okay sure you do what you want, but it’s not a “good habit” if no tangible benefits other than you like doing it
Either is fine as long as you pay in full especially if it’s a charge card. Paying early does help but it’s not a must.
If you’re consistently paying early on the same day, like 2 days before statement, this doesn’t really do anything because the only impact is to credit utilization. You’d have to be paying a few times throughout the month to keep the balance down
Rising Star
All you’d be doing is thumbing the scale on your utilization. It’s not going to have a major impact unless you are spending a large portion of your available credit limit.
Talking about personal Amex Platinum
Doesn’t matter for amex from personal experience. It doesn’t show up on credit utilisation. Credit cards on the other hand I do pay a day or two before the statement closing date so reported statement balance (which does impact utilisation) is low/zero.
As others have said, it doesn’t change anything in a meaningful way eg rate you get on mortgage/car loans, access to credit etc. But some of us are just OCD and credit score over 800 is important for its own sake.
