Does anyone here work for Silicon Valley Bank? They recently acquired Boston Private. I’m a candidate for a job at Boston Private. Wondering if SVB is planning layoffs in the near term at BP? Also, does anyone know the anticipated benefits to be rolled out from SVB as the parent company? Specifically interested in health insurance providers. Thanks in advance for any information! Hahaha can’t take d anymore
So many jokes can be had but I'll be good lol
Love slalom. Great place for WLB. Salary growth and professional development isn’t great. But if you want to work 40 hours and be home every night and use this as a next stop towards an industry exit opp, it’s a good spot.
I’m in our S&O practice. I probably do 50 percent strategy. But not C Suite Strategy. More like strategy lite. 20% PmO. The other 30 probably Ops and biz dev a bit. I left the road and joined slalom. That’s how I got here. Had a friend that worked in another office and loved it.
It’s a great company to work for, after the politics of BCG it’s pretty refreshing. I can also be a present parent in my kids life.
Pretty chill. 40-44 hour weeks, really excellent coworkers. I can’t stress the excellent coworker piece enough - my coworkers have quickly started to become some of my close friends.
Work definitely leans toward staff aug, but I have enjoyed remarkable flexibility. Taking 2 months of unpaid time off next year, no questions asked.
I won’t say Slalom is for everyone, and Slalom definitely isn’t perfect. But Slalom is a good place to be.
DM me, and we can chat!
Overall, good. Feel free to dm me
Exited after 5 years firmly in a “middle management” role. Worked 45-50 each week so it was decent from a WLB perspective. I realized Slalom is somewhat unique but it is really filled with kool aid drinkers.
I agree with what others have said. It’s not for everyone, but if you know what you are looking for as far as stress/opportunity trade offs, Slalom mostly delivers on the WLB and good culture. On balance, I like it and think it is right for me. If it seems appealing based on what you’ve heard, it’s likely to be a good fit for you.
