So am I the only vet that’s feels out of place??? I’ve got what feels like several hundred apps in across multiple job “helping” sites and apps and not so much as a call back, a thank you but we’ve gone a different way NOTHIN! I served 13 years and I’m fuckin lost! I’ve got an amazing wife, and four kiddos to support, what do I need to do? I feel like I’m failing my family…..sorry for the long post.

I’ve applied for loads too, although I have the odd automated email saying gone elsewhere, but most I’ve heard nothing. Have the jobs closed yet? Some have a long date and are still open to apply for.

Regarding looking, Ive opened my options (completed 20 years) so rather than just managerial/project management. What I’ve done is look for jobs that spark an interest and lowered my expectations regarding wage. I’ve also looked at job searches such as No experience required/On job training etc.

But you’re definitely not the only one and you’re definitely not letting anyone down. 👌👍

Yea I’ve got loads of those automated emails, don’t get me wrong I know the more options you have out the more likely you are to land one. Just seems crazy to me that there’s literally hiring now signs everywhere and yet here we are….

I started by setting a daily time goal; 2hrs self improvement, 1hr applications, 1hr networking, 1hr interview prep. That helped just to organize my day.

A friend came back to me and recommended I cut back on applications and focus on networking.

I think it’s paid off. In the process of asking for informational interviews, I got lucky and found a manager who was actually hiring. I submitted my application, knowing it would get pulled out of the pile. Great confidence booster knowing it wasn’t just going into a black hole.

That’s awesome and sounds like an even better way to organize things and get your headspace right…..I’ll definitely try and refocus on what I need to do as opposed to spamming the market!

Not sure if you have found work yet but if you have any interest in the medical field it's pretty easy to find a job there.

Been seeing a guy for a few months now and I can’t stop myself from getting in my head. I’ve never been in a solid relationship before like this and I’m afraid I’m going to mess it up. We’re together most nights and some nights I need a night off or some space, but when I don’t hear from him I get paranoid that I did something.
I don’t know how to just let things be and feel we’re as good as I know we are.

My partner hates my long working hours.

It is really hard to do well in this business without sacrifice and my partner doesn't like it. To be fair that sacrifice is her... Most nights, over the weekend, and during every meal. She deserves better but I either sacrifice time or sacrifice earning potential.

I don't know how to solve this problem.

Married to a crazy rich girlfriend and it's the worst experience of my life. She can afford anything, flying first class everywhere, wears all branded stuff and she doesnt have to work for life. I am working very hard to provide for family and I am still not able to add any value to her life and she's been distancing herself. We havent had any meaningful interaction in the past 1 year too, been sleeping separately, no touch/kiss/sex or anything like that. We might be divorcing soon...

Been with my GF since college and we recently hit the 4 year mark. 1-2 years into our relationship I found out she had instances of micro-cheating (flirting with guys, talking to ex’s etc - but nothing physical) and we addressed it. To her credit and my knowledge, she’s been apologetic and great at respecting boundaries since, but I still feel the pain from her actions years ago (and have talked to her about it). Feeling lost about whether to just leave or to try and work things out

I and my boyfriend have been dating over a year now. Our relationship in general is pretty smooth and sweet. The only problem is he has not come out to his parents yet. It was not an issue before the pandemic thing since we were just living in the city, being in our own bubble. But Covid happened and he moved back to stay with his dad. Since he is not out, he can’t pick up the phone call whenever I call him, he can’t tell his parents he is dating someone in the city. Cont.

Perspective: monogamy is anti-human nature; in this era where each parent could raise a kid independently, marriage tends to be a shackle on many aspects of life. We live once, why does society expect us to live with 1 person for 60+ years? No wonder divorce rates are through the roof!

Dyslexia! After having our kindergartener son tested (privately) related to ADHD, we were told he may have dyslexia too (which would explain why he struggles so much with phonics but is amazing at sight words). He has a very high IQ. As a voracious reader, I am finding myself unexpectedly distraught that something that I have loved so much will be such a struggle for him, and worrying that it will affect his motivation and may steer him away from things he may otherwise love.
