No guilt, no need to stay any requisite amount of time. Congrats on your promotion, but that promotion is based on work you’ve done to date, not a precondition to you staying for any additional amount of time. If they can’t pay you enough to stay, then it’s time to go. Give them a couple weeks’ notice and prepare solid and thorough exit memos, but you don’t owe them anything beyond that (and neither do they since I’m assuming you’re an at-will employee).
Good luck!
Life is too short. Do what is in your best interest. Trust me, coming from a career in a "family" company before law school that touted how great the environment was laid off tons of people during the downturn. If this new opportunity will make you happier (and more lucrative), don't look back. Your firm didn't miss you before you started and won't after you leave; just reality.

It’s business- there should be no guilt. They would have no guilt firing you so why should you have any guilt for quitting for a better opportunity
Thank you guys. Will go for it - new opportunities
