Sorry for dumping this here but it’s so hard to pull myself out of a mental hole right now - I know all the things that i am supposed to do - journaling, meditation, exercise. And I love to do those things… but I can’t because I am too crippled by anxiety/sadness from this l job I feel like I can never get it right and honestly I don’t know how I got here. Does anyone have any advice about how to snap out of this?

Take time off or if you can remote work, travel/visit/crash with a friend for a change of scenery.

Get therapy.

Create and set a routine. Step outside. Exercise.

Don't force yourself to meditate if you can't. Do the simplest stuff like put on shoes, clothes and step out

I'm in the same boat kinda, and I've had to do this before but I'm back in the rut again 💀

If you can swing therapy sessions, I'd recommend trying it out. If you find someone who's a good fit, talking to them can release a little bit of the weight that you're feeling. See if your company has resources or a "wellness budget" to cover wellness activities. Some insurance will partially cover it too.

Being outside or taking a short walk is helpful too.

This is going to sound lame but I promise it's meant to be helpful - try to keep meals balanced and stay hydrated. It's easier to stay in a rut when you aren't nourishing your body.

One step at a time - you got this!

I just want to say it’s ok to sit there and do nothing for a while. Sometimes we need to just do nothing. I know the guilt you have for all the stuff you “should” be doing… it’s ok to just not do it for a while. Give yourself some grace.

Thank you for starting this bowl! I just turned 50. I had my one and only child at 41 and went straight into menopause. My symptoms were perhaps confused with postbpatrum and nursing hormone symptoms but bow my hair is dry and frizzy yet somehow also oily and my skin lacks luster and I gain weight so easily. Working from home for eight months has definitely hanged my body shape and not for the better!

I need some legit feedback on what is it like to be a UXD at companies like Accenture?
They claim to do a lot of research oriented designs, as everyone. But is that really the case or it's like some other service based companies where the UX is almost vague, and happens mostly based on what the managers think to be good?

Does UX have any value or it's just drafting wireframes based on ideations by the managers and then UI designs?

I started a new job recently and then had my PTSD seriously triggered, plus a panic attack. Felt so on edge and low on emotional resources for over a week that I wasn’t myself and apparently really rubbed a few people the wrong way so I was called in for a talking to 😣. I let people know there were some personal things going on, but didn’t mention the PTSD—very unsure if that’s something to share, or if I’d be judged for it or... I don’t even know. Has anyone else dealt with PTSD and had it impact them at work, and how did you handle it?
