Not hard
Leave the firm without burning bridges and you can always bounce back
If you were good at your job, they'll always take you back. You're a known asset to the firm with no learning curve to worry about. If you were just average, they may weigh the current economics before hiring you. If you were bad, they'll throw out excuses to not hire you
If you're open to go anywhere, yeah, you should be fine. If you're being selective though, it may be harder. People don't usually do well growing in a firm they didn't start with and if the economy is slowing down, they're likely not going to bring in an experienced hire they are not familiar with as those are usually the first to go in layoffs.
