I work in US Tax and had an experience of 3 year. Had got an offer of 14Lpa in another big4,but still don't feel like continuing in US Tax. As taxation is something I do feel like I don't want to make a career anymore, because of work life balance & also as it specialised. Please suggest other option worthy to make a career shift. You guidance will be extremely helpful. My highest qualification is M.com.
EY KPMG Deloitte PwC.

Check out sitreps2steercos on Instagram. He’s USMA grad -> aviator -> B school -> consultant, and he breaks this down pretty comprehensively. He’d recommend the full time MBA route.
Look into the DOD SkillBridge program (the Army calls it the Career Skills Program). I’m a junior NCO with a history degree from a smaller university. I was got matched with Deloitte for my internship through SkillBridge and ended up getting a very generous offer from them that I accepted.
I will do that. Thanks!
I just got out last year as o3 while doing a 2 year weekend MBA program. I had wife/kids so math was different.
Had interviews with McK, PWC, EY, Cap1, progressive and a handful of others.
Part time programs are not all equal. Some let you recruit with the full time kids.
If I had to do part time again I would aim for finding a way to fit an internship in because that seemed to be the deciding factor for those that took the more sought after companies withl consulting/product management roles.
I graduated a month before I got out. I basically applied for just the MBA new grad roles, and most had a standard comp package (at least that's what they told me) to prevent any ill will within the class. Most of the offers for my MBA class happened in Nov-Jan and we graduated with full-time kids . You can DM me for more details about the program/thoughts if you want
Looking back at it, I think it really depends on what you’re targeting afterwards. (I didn’t know what I wanted…) Access to a MBA career center made a world of difference for me (is that possible for UNC online?) Looking back at it, I wish I applied to more competitive business schools.
I think you do better via an elite business school’s career center than trying to “get experience” on your own. Recruiters will see you like all the other career switchers in business school and the comp will be in line with that. Post t25 MBA consulting offers (not federal) will easily exceed 150k starting total comp (based on the offers I had), but I’ve heard most of these JMO programs are more like 80-110k
If not too late, recommend delaying and going full time. If you are still active duty you will miss out on any recruiting advantage posed by UNCs program now anyway…unless you can time it such that you transition at program completion.
I did 4 active -> hbs -> bcg and it was a pretty easy route in, but didn’t close other doors if you change your mind about consulting during your MBA. You’ll find the salary trajectory at an MBB significantly better than Accenture.
