It took me at least 3 months pre-covid! Be gentle with yourself, you are smart and capable. You will find an even better job! ❤️ And file for unemployment ASAP.
It took me five months pre-COVID to land a new job. The whole process of finding the right job, applying, and interviewing was exhausting to say the very least. I don’t want to look at the job boards every again after that experience. Spray and pray my friend.
Hang in there, OP. Looking back over your 40ish year career, this break, even if long, will be nothing more than a blip.
it's been 4 weeks. had couple of interviews. it's little bit tiring...but keep patience, and follow some hobby on side.
I’m on the same boat! It’s hard staying optimistic these days.
It will likely take awhile in this climate if you are applying to consulting firms just due to loss of business and the increased competition in the market. Possibly many months to a year. However, you will have a better chance targeting firms that prospered during the pandemic like Amazon, where I recently landed a job. But still, even more people are applying so it would've been better to launch the search before the crisis peaked, which is what I started doing just as a plan B, which I ended up taking because my current job was a target for layoff.
