I don’t think there would be serious implications, but be prepared to get a bunch of shit from your coworkers. We had a guy update his LinkedIn the same day as year-end discussion (promotion didn’t go into effect for another 3 months) and we had a field day.
You are not a Senior as of today so it’ll only look immature. You can also not put it on your resume yet since background check will catch your lie
If somebody calls the firm to confirm your resume, what do you think the firm will say? You know there answer to your own question, you’re just hoping somebody will tell you otherwise
Nobody cares about your linkedin profile. You are still small fish. No offense.
Suprising (in a sad way) that the replies thus far are close to balanced. A little in favor of "dont do it."
Easy for someone else to tell you to take a risk. The bottom line is that it wouldn't be accurate or honest. In any profession and especially in this profession, honesty and integrity are at the core.
There is no debate on this one. It's wrong. It's a lie. Simply dont do it.
Character counts!
Are you a senior now? That should answer your question
Life is about taking chances...dont listen to these weak ass aimps.. do it bruh, just do it
I would wait. You can let recruiters know that you are making senior on October 1.
Makes you look dishonest
I would just wait - future employers will understand the promo time frame and just tell them verbally. They likely care more about years of experience than anything else. Explaining “rising senior” or saying that your a senior when not truly being one yet is lame.
Just said that you will be promoted to se book and effective on Oct 1
It’s like saying you’re a cpa before the license is finalized. Don’t do it
*role
Totally legit to lie on your resume.
Just wait until it is official. What's the rush? I understand being excited, but it's not official. Waiting until it is official is a mature and responsible response.
Make sure to turn off the notification that alerts everyone of your promotion lmao
3 words - don’t do it!
100% no
Tacky, don't do it
Would like to add that I am currently looking to get out of Big 4 assurance. Speaking to recruiters at the moment.
