Hello - hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm looking into risk assurance opportunities at Meta, especially Application Manager, Controls (min 5 YOE) and Manager, Compliance (min 12 YOE). I am a Senior Manager with 9 years of IT risks assurance experience. Does anyone have any thought on which position I should apply? If anyone currently at Meta could share your experience, that would also help. If anyone is open to providing referrals, I could provide my background. Facebook (Meta)

Did they say that exactly or did they say speak properly because the latter is true and sadly commonly confused with talking white. If bringing your full self means not being able to effectively communicate with the majority of folks around you, your success will be limited.
OP are you going to respond to this? This is the most valid and best question asked in the thread.
If Director 1’s assumptions are accurate, your original post holds almost no water. If true, the issue is that you perceive lack of slang and vernacular means “speaking white” when in reality it’s a matter of education and professionalism, nothing to do with color.
It’s not code switching to enunciate, limit the slang and use somewhat proper grammar in a the work setting. Lol that’s just called being in adult in a professional field.
But if somebody just approached you and told you that you need to “talk white” to succeed then 🙄🤦🏾♂️
You’re on the money @EY2.
A black person said this to you?
I feel you on this. I’m still trying to adjust with being in a field dominated by Caucasian men and women.
If we've gotten this far, then we've all been code switching for a while now.
