I spent my first 6.5 years of service in Naval Aviation.
All enlisted schools are co serviced at NAS Pensacola and are staffed by both Navy and Marine Corps instructors.. the instruction is exactly the same and mostly the same aircraft as well.
All Navy and Marine pilots are out to earn the title Naval Aviator …same here all instruction is the same with both service instructors…some different aircraft , there are even some joint USN/USMC squadrons out there..depends which service you want
The main differences between the Navy and Marine aviation units are the types of aircraft, mission focus, and chain of command. The Navy is primarily composed of fixed wing aircraft and focuses on long-range missions, while the Marines are composed of both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, and focus on more ground-based missions. IMO, Marine aviation route to be more challenging, as I had to learn a variety of aircraft and flight tactics. However, both routes are equally rewarding.
The biggest thing is the marine are responsible for aircraft operation while navy is responsible for anything going on in the sea. The army is the last component responsible to the land
