So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. I’m just really happy that I found someone who is willing to take a vow to spend his life with me and I’m so excited for that day :)

First time Dad and my 15 month old keeps running up the stairs at my in-laws place and they keep encouraging it. Stairs are almost 10 inches high with nothing underneath and I’m worried that he might slip and fall in between the stairs. Why do we always tell people “Be the best version of yourself before starting a relationship?”
I feel this is wrong…first, if you’re someone who constantly wants to be better, this doesn’t work. Also, what happens when you’re going through things and you’re not the best version? What happens is…the going gets tough and then one person leaves the other.

Is anyone else crashing hard today? It’s almost 5pm and I haven’t left my bedroom. My kids are fending for themselves and a little confused about why I haven’t come out. I recently floundered professionally and realized that the reason was I expected my relationship with my job to fulfill all my human needs and when it didn't I had no idea what to do. So just a reminder to prioritize the relationships in your life that give you meaning, your job is one of them but it's a poor life if that's the only one. The biggest thing I keep running and running around my head- after 8 months, why did he drop me? When he texted ending it l….it wasn’t me, like we weren’t us, his words were from someone else, like I didn’t matter. It doesn’t matter how much it wasn’t about me, how he chose to end it, and that’s what crushed me. Who I thought I knew was wrong. I want to know how close he was to loving me.
