Why not give yourself the best possible chance for the job?
Chief
Goodness, gracious - all of these folks encouraging you to hide behind a suit like it’s 2019…
Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident at the same time.
Say you had 2 candidates OP and OP w/ Suit, exactly the same in every way since they are literally the same person. They give identical interviews, exact same response, confidence, etc.
Which one gets the job?
Never hurts to be overdressed
If you really feel strongly against it though then just ditch the jacket and tie

Half a suit

Bottoms only
As cliche as it may sound, wear what you would wear for an in-person interview!
Shirt, jacket, no pants.

Suit.
Suit without tie
Wear a suit and don’t be a bum. Dress like you care about the job
Update: went with the suit. Thanks for the overwhelming consensus! I was definitely overdressed, but not egregiously so.
Depend on the job you are going for.
I’ve never wore more than a polo shirt in tech industry…
Ppl are actually getting interviews these days? Lucky.
I wore a suit to my last video interview. Seemed to work.
I've worn a suit to every job interview I've done. Even restaurant jobs in high school. Always look your best / it hurts more to underdress than overdress

I wore suit and tie all the way.

Top half of a suit, bottom half nude
I’ve worn a sport coat, collared shirt and tie to every one of my virtual interviews. Always got comments on wearing a tie even when every single SM, partner, or director were dressed down or had their cameras completely off. Stayed professional throughout, but was always myself. Didn’t become someone I wasn’t, had my stories down, spoke to them about my experiences, and demonstrated my value add. Received offers from all the Big 4. If wearing a suit gives you confidence, do it. If not lose the tie but more importantly you have to look professional and exude confidence.
