18 paid weeks for primary caregiver, option to extend 6 additional weeks unpaid.

like

20 weeks paid and can add your vacation days but that doesn’t prorate for bonus calculation like the rest of mat leave

Vinson Elkins does 18 weeks for primary, 9 for secondary. They prorate bonus hours and $ amount. I know Shearman does 22 for primary (not sure if they make a distinction with secondary), and I believe Orrick does 24 weeks. Not sure about the details for Shearman and Orrick bonuses though.

My husband has a strong sense of duty towards his parents - I’ve been very encouraging of it - making sure he has the freedom to be there for his family and parents in whatever way they need or want (e.g. sleeping over at his parents at least 2 nights, attending family events, making sure he goes to all their doc appts, maintaining a relationship with his sisters and their children, etc). His family and I are not from similar backgrounds so we have our struggles so I keep a distance (more below)

Recently found out I am pregnant (and super happy about it!) and beginning to realize the (mental) load from it: I had a headache today that I’d normally take painkillers for but didn’t want to bc of pregnancy, so had to power through day w/ the pain. Also anxious about any upcoming physical symptoms that I need to power through bc it is too early to tell people at work. I know it will probably be ok. Pls tell me so :)

Struggling at work (first time manager, re-orgs, toxic culture) for the last 6 months. Experiencing secondary infertility and PCOS. Decided to hold out to utilize my mat benefits, hopefully to become pregnant after a few rounds of medications and lifestyle changes. No luck. Now work has gotten worse and I’m so burnt out. Been applying to jobs and think I’m close to an offer. Have started seeing a specialist but now scared of TTC with a potential new job offer. Has anyone been here before?

Am I overreacting in this scenario? My aunt passed away this week. The entire extended family is vaccinated and coming together this weekend for her memorial gathering & funeral. My older sister flew in from NYC and didn’t tell anyone that she had a fever the past few days. She has not been tested for Covid, and exposed my father who picked her up from the airport. He is making her get a Covid test today. I don’t think she should attend any event & potentially expose older family members. AITA?

I feel terrible. My mum and my husband both told me I am fat and need to lose weight ASAP. They were not trying to insult me, they both really think they have my best in interest. I am a mother of 11 months old twins, am still breastfeeding and currently have 11kg more than before pregnancy. I was always skinny and before pregnancy wore size 8. I feel so bad for hearing that, and feel like a failure on all levels.

I’m returning back to work this week from maternity leave and wondering what to do as far as nursing/pumping. Our 5 month old isn’t on a schedule right now and nurses on demand (every ~2 hrs or so). My husband will be watching him for the next few weeks, followed by a nanny so I could continue nursing. Do you think it would be better to try and put baby on a schedule and block off time for nursing? Is it realistic to nurse on demand while working? Switch to pumping?

I got a verbal offer from one of big 4 and the 💰 is decent. Here is my hesitation : I want to go truly because I want to grow to be a leader. I am a Sr. DS, specialize in financial risk analytics. I want to join Big4 ( as SA -DS) so I can learn what's new in the industry and see if I can contribute to white papers. Am I too naive? 🤔 I just read so many negative comments about Big4 and really got me thinking....
