What’s your favorite way to be organized at work? Particularly related to prioritization and to-do tasks. And how do you stick to it/not slack off?

Im starting to get overwhelmed at work (audit) so I’m not sure if I should get a notebook to write down my to-do list, get a calendar, make a spreadsheet, etc...

I use Notes on my computer - write my Priority list on a Monday (my team shares theirs for viz & support) and then update my To Do list daily. Helps make me super accountable & I review the list at the end of the day so I don’t miss anything or roll things into the next day

Microsoft one note. I have a todo list for the day and it feels good to cross it out. I also put there notes for each of my meeting and for each client. You can use tabs to categorize it. I have bad handwritting so sometimes if I write something in the notebook i don’t recognize it. lol.

I use sticky notes, but most times, I get organized in my brain.
I tend to work on tasks that I know can be finished very quickly, so that I can dedicate the rest of my time to tasks which need proper analysis/research and take quite a bit of time.
Usually, I tend to plan what I'm going to do the next day the night before as I get a better sense of where I'm at. I have "weekly" priorities and "daily" ones - then I split the priority level accordingly.
Additionally, I also dedicate a specific calendar to slot to important tasks. I may not stick to the specific hours I selected in my calendar, but I'm aware those tasks need to be completed asap.

I’m a big fan of web-based “Complish” (www.complish.app) it’s a daily to-do list which I have now learned to live by. My team and I actually use it for our daily stand ups and 1:1s. If you like new and evolving start-ups, and need that daily list (but also flexibility to keep things on the list, enjoyment of crossing it off, and saving it for later) I’d give it a try.

I tutor ESL after school and recently switched over to Zoom. Students are stating that they are unable to annotate. I’ve read that this is common for Chromebook users. Does anyone know of a way to bypass this and/or any video/picture tutorials? Otherwise, it looks like we’ll just have to add an additional open tab with a google share doc. Many thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.

Anyone else want to see the Zoom servers utilization superimposed on top of the COVID infection rate? Assuming they are eerily similar.

If [said company] asks to put you "on hold" for the month of December...but you found a better offer, do you:
-have to follow through with said gig
-communicate this with them if they haven't followed up yet (but added you to new slack channels)

(asking because I no longer wish to work with them) Thanks for the advice.

How are you developing client relationships when in-person networking is out?

I'm used to hanging out with my clients frequently, grabbing coffee, stopping by the office, etc. Zoom/Hangouts meetings just feel really awkward and it's difficult switching from business development which was 90% IRL to nearly all online... Especially when I run a 1-person shop.

How about y'all?

Researching the job mkt & pay for nursing: It is so easy to set up a first interview esp. as a nurse. Set up a zoom meeting, in the zoom meeting ask abt job details and ask for the salary range. They will give it to you, and in my case it was the same range for both of the companies. (Hospice oncall nurse here👋). Then you fit in somewhere on that continuum based on education & experience—that where the negotiation comes in—they will make a case to place you as low as possible on the scale.

Particularly at AC level.

I have couple of more questions:
1. WLB as I have heard is pretty pathetic at ZS. Is it same in BO team as well?
2. Salary range for the AC role? (I have 3+ years of experience post MBA, before MBA 0 years, transitioning from big 4)
3. Any on-site opportunities?
4. How are other perks at the organisation? (Apart from fixed pay)
