When in your career you found out is not a good fit for you? I’m in Tax and struggling,not sure if should give up or continue?

Anyone here with experience as a Product Manager? I’ve close to decade of consumer lending experience including Sales/Advisory, Supervisor and Underwriting. I have have been looking to pivot into a more impactful role this year. I am due for an interview for a Product Manager next week. The company ticks all my boxes but the job description a bit vague. I came to US on an L1b in 2018 and switched to H1b in 2021 Oct. Current 797/visa expiry is stated as July 2023, by which I would have spent 1.5 years on H1b visa (and 3.5 years on L1b before that). During h1b extension , will I get another 4.5 years of extension? How does extension work when u switch visas?

Recently left the Big4 without a job lined up. I’m hearing all my friends talking about busy season woes and I’m so grateful to not be in that position. I keep thinking of the long hours and it’s making me not want to job hunt. I’ve been looking at industry related tax roles, and generally like accounting but am open to exploration. Is there any such role that gives good comp, great work/life balance (I don’t even wanna be near 60 hours), and overall interesting role/company?

Is it worth it to recruit for a PE Associate role if your current plan is to get 2YOE, go get an MBA and pivot afterwards? Seems like most people can’t /won’t stick around to make it to the top and end up doing something else anyways.

I feel like all of my friends who work in tech are very open about their starting salaries and the increases each year. I am going to work in public accounting and I feel like when I look up how much I will make after being promoted or early promoted it’s very cryptic.
