I would never want to be a detective because of the gruesome and disturbing crime scenes they are often exposed to. I could never handle seeing dead bodies for hours looking details and clues
Anything that entails going out to the field, I love helping out from the lab though!
I don't think I could work patrolling at all. I know many people who have gone into situations thinking they will be okay and they end up losing their lives. I love my family a lot and it would destroy them if something like this happened to me.
I would not want to work as a child abuse detective. I understand the need for these positions, and the positive impact can be great when you deliver justice for the victims, but to have to deal with everything it involves would be too much. Child abuse involves everything from batteries to sexual assault and murder. I could not imagine having to review all the evidence, interviewing the victims, not beating the suspects during their interview, etc.
