Police work is hella stressful I'm sure you're not the only who one who has ever broken down like that. Others are just so good at hiding their frustrations and coping through different (and not always healthy) means. If anything, I'm sure some of your coworkers, especially the seasoned ones, will be more empathetic toward you. Mistakes are a part of professional growth. Crying is totally okay, even in law enforcement. Anyone who says otherwise is just in denial.
I bet they all broke down once in their lives. We are humans and we have emotions. Crying should not be taken negatively. Why would they think about you differently? That would b just hypocrisy if they say anything about you breaking down.
Well if they are a supportive group of colleagues instead of judging you they will help your transition and give you advice on how to manage
Police work is hard. It takes some time to get used to it. I'm sure they all still felt the same way at some point in time.
Give yourself some time to recover. Your coworkers have encountered a lot of horrible things. Don't be too hard on your self.
Do not be embarrassed. I am sure most of them went through the same situation. You are still human after all. It's okay to cry.
