I have ~$52K in my 401K. How does that compare with others? I’m almost 27 and have been thinking more and more about withdrawing some to pay off college debt.

Hired a new nanny and currently on day 2. I am still on maternity leave so helping toddler transition and baby. She seems nice but tardy and my toddler is a rocket. My husband made breakfast for me she came and ate it. She helped the toddler nap and now sleeping lying next to him 🤦♀️. Baby cried and she put him in car seat and tried to rock him along with car seat . She was so nice during the trial (sweeet) but I am confused now on what did I sign up for ! Can I get some tips please ?
Potentially stupid but serious question alert: I want to move my money from checking to an index fund (e.g., SP500 type) to build passively vs. it just sitting in my bank. My questions arise around how liquid is this (e.g., if I need to make a large purchase and take a portion of the investment) and what are tax implications for short term withdrawals/selling (e.g., I invest 10k, sell 2k to make a purchase, does this actually help financially or does short term taxes /other negate any benefits)?
Planning to join Deloitte office in Bay Area after visa transfer process. Living with wife and 2 children. Want to understand healthcare plans available and deductions in each paycheck. Thanks.
Can someone explain why they buy EFTs over index funds? A couple years ago I switched my 401k from target date to index funds? Does it make sense to eventually switch those to EFTs? If so, what's the strategy on when to switch?
I am starting to question my existence in this world. I have a nice job, decent salary, i work out and eat healthy, maintain my health, read 3 to 4 books every month, dont have any personal commitments (single), in my early 30s and things cant be any better. Of course with the exception that i had a real bad break-up with my fiancé 6 months ago. And i dont have any symptoms of depression, but there are days when i just feel like what is all this for?
Anyone sign marriage documents cause it just made sense at the time (insurance, buying home) and then had a ceremony afterwards?
What are people doing for their retirement? How much do you invest monthly and what % into your 401k?
I’m looking to make a shift into recruiting. I don’t have any typical recruiting experience but I believe I will be very good at it. Im excited to learn, very personable, love helping connect people. My issues are: Ive never worked a commission job before & taking that leap is terrifying. Im currently at a job that pays about 30K more than most of the base pays I’m seeing & I have great benefits. Any advice? What to look out for? How to pick a good place? Where are you working/why do you like it
Is there anyone from Gartner who can tell what they think about the benefits. How many days pto, what is the 401k like?, healthcare etc? Any idea how many days PTO dies an associate partner get?

Currently contributing 18% to savings (8% 401k and 10% to savings account) and also paying $2250/month for grad school. I have a healthy savings balance and am not expecting and need to use it anytime soon. Is is ok to cut back on what I put into my savings account while I’m in school? Feeling stretched thin and have always had the impression it’s bad to not be contributing to savings regularly. Thinking if I’m paying for school it’s ok to be less aggressive with savings. Looking for input.
Have you ever run into a situation where you asked for more money (either a raise or when negotiating an offer) and you got it and regretted it? What are the strings attached to more $?

I’m being promoted to Manager this November but recent got offer from a fintech. In money term the manager base pay is 5k greater than the new role but i’m negotiating to match the offer with my Manager salary. Should I wait until promoted or move asap? I dont want to continue working in external audit so trying to pivot to data analyst role/IA in the fintech before moving to full DA/DS position… but thinking the Manager promotion would help negotiate salary in the future.
How do you approach a firm recruiting you when you weren't looking to move? It would be similar work, but I could negotiate a significant salary boost which would help my family reach financial goals faster. I like everything about my firm, but the pay is on the low side. I've never interviewed when I wasn't eager to leave my current job, and I'm uncertain how to discuss that with the recruiter & interviewer. I want to leverage it, but don't want to sound greedy.
On the bench but putting in my notice in two weeks. Any reason to look for projects, PD work, etc? Or should I just chill?
