I finished my masters degree last October and have been looking for a job since then.Can anyone please refer me to entry level roles that are not asking entry levels to have 3-5 years experience if that even exists these days. I wouldn’t see it as beneficial unless you’re interested in specialized roles that focus specifically on benefits/ leave administration. FMLA has pretty standard guidelines across the board. I’d suggest reading up in the topic first. Perhaps running your questions by a HR colleague or mentor. If you find that you’re still having trouble grasping it, then pursue the formal learning via the certification.
To learn FMLA: DOL, learn the forms, responsibilities & rights, see SHRM articles, attend webinars, look at settlements what employers do wrong…. One of the most important issues in HR management. I don't know that a cert is necessary, but at least some training is absolutely necessary.

It's always beneficial to expand your knowledge base. If you've got the time and you're interested in learning more about that area of the business to become more marketable, then go for it!
Everything I’ve ever learned in my years of 11 and 7 in benefits including leave, I learned from in the job training. I am not degreed or certified. However I am finishing school next year just as a personal goal and everything I’m learning in school (HR degree) doesn’t come close to what I have learned working
