So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

P7 then you don't have good relationships with your RP and coach. In 11 years I've never had to wait more than a few days - develop the relationships throughout the year, and if you can't -- pick up the phone, call HR and switch to someone to mesh better with
I don't think my RP cares about building relationships. Makes me feel very discouraged if I try to reach out multiple times but not able to get meaningful feedback and always feel rushed during our conversations.
SA1- a partner doesn't get counseled out, he/she gets bought out - far less painless!
They don't layoff partners. A number I've seen were "promoted out of the way." Given a new role with really no responsibilities or power. Used to be "Joe is going to be transitioning out of Practice X to lead our Global Y", which most took as code of them being put to pasture. There's also the economics of their shares and revenue goals.
P12 is right. What is the point of having a really expensive partner who is not generating revenue?
I can't speak to what it's like on the PwC side of things, but for us switching RPs is not that hard. If you're truly trying to reach out to yours and get no response, I would do everything you can to get someone new. Your RP is your most important advocate in the firm. And don't start the conversation post-CRT. Set up time throughout the year.
