What are the Big 4? Discussions

For everyone based in the uk, does anybody know the salary range for a manager and associate director/senior manager at the big 4 outside of London within deal, more specifically corporate finance ? Ie. Manchester, Bristol or Birmingham

What months do the Big 4 and Big 3 recruit during the year? I went through a recruiting cycle from the Big 4 around September and failed in all cases. Just wondering what other months do these firms (4 or 3) recruit typically.

I have 4YOE in FDD, the pay here is terrible but big 4 is all I know and I am scared to work elsewhere.

My goal is to transfer to B4 M&A tax in two years. Would it be better to start off in international or corporate tax? Currently have an offer for both but would love to hear your thoughts.

Does anyone have any experience starting in the Army, Navy or Air Force Reserves while working in consulting? I’ve been considering it for several years and have an opportunity to start but curious about any feedback regarding how the Big 4 handle time off for basic training and the 2-week training every year. Any feedback would be great!

Currently a first year B4 associate, looking to break into PE, probably PE Ops given consulting experience to make more money and I generally am more aligned/attracted to finance. Is it a viable option and if yes, how much exp should I get in consulting before I start to look for a jump/move?

I work at Big 4 and I’m just curious, how does PWC generally perform their audits so well? Do they risk assess a much larger portion of the financial statements in comparison to others and get away with it?

Would you leave B4 for an opportunity at FAANG if it means you will be more like an individual contributor and have less leadership/management responsibilities but get paid 25% more?

I interviewed at KPMG on 11/14 and got a verbal offer the next day but since then waiting to hear from them. Been following up continuously but the partners are not replying it seems. In the meanwhile i have an offer from BT offering 90k for 4 yrs of experience which seems to be fair. I am just unsure whether to accept the offer as I was waiting for kpmg reply as I want B4 on my resume which apparently is a big deal. Is BT also good on resume for future employers ??

So I am now in a top MBA and going into a tier1/MBB consulting firm.
I started my career in my families business we’re I worked really hard but did not feel very appreciated. I ended up leaving to live with my partner in another country and tried to enter investment banking knowing that I wanted to get an MBA. I had to take an internship and then got hired by a bank, soon enough I got fired but hired by a Big 4 ( start of covid) ended up getting laid off.

So I have two offers from big 4, one for audit and one for M&A tax. I eventually want to go into Investment banking and was wondering If I should take the audit role and then lateral into TAS/FDD or go into M&A Tax?

What are the most common exit strategies for someone working in Forensics at the Big 4? As in, where do people usually go after?

If I want to get into FDD eventually (internally or externally, big 4) at the 1-1.5 year mark in my career (I am currently in a rotational program between Audit and AAS) would it be better to apply for a senior associate or experienced associate position? I assume closer to 1.5-2 years would make sense for a senior role but just wanted to hear out people's opinions.

I recently joined one of the big 4' and within first week I got diagnosed with health condition (migraine) and another one(personal to not be disclosed here)
Now I am unable to work due to this health condition and even if I take leaves, i am unsure how long till this gets better as day by day it seems to get worse
I feel like resigning and focusing on recovery but unsure of the repercussions. Can you guys help me with what I should do

Just accepted a job at Big 4. How restrictive is owning individual stocks? Is it even worth trying? Been debating just selling all individual stocks and just buying VTI/VOO.
