What are the Big 4? Discussions

Would a B4 firm (EY specifically here) hire someone out of the accounting team at a client to be on the audit? Seems like client knowledge would be invaluable; but wondering if there's policies/independence rules going from client to firm like there are for firm to client? (Fyi AM is an old position)

I’m an MS Management Student graduating in June 2023. I applied to over 40 positions within the Big 4/MBB and even with extensive networking, I haven’t heard back from any really. I have an offer from a pretty well-known but less prestigious Consulting Firm, but I’m wondering what my chances even are of going Big 4/MBB if I’m not a campus hire. Will they even consider me for an experienced hire a year or two down the road if they showed no interest this time? Any advice welcome!

I pivoted from a communications strategy role in the higher education sector to a big 4 firm. I'm one month in and can say that I do not regret my decision at all. I work longer hours, but the amount of support, training and development opportunities will set me up for life. These weren't available at all in my previous company.

Currently working in B4 FDD with 4-5 total YOE. I’m trying to weigh going to a regional boutique IB that seems to have relatively manageable hours and decent deal flow (200k TC) or Corp Dev at a solid F500 (125k TC). Thoughts or suggestions? I feel like I want to end up in CD long term but not sure I’m comfortable going in at that low a level and feel like the banking experience could help.

Looking to get back into Internal Audit / Risk Consulting, including possibly IT Audit, for the right opportunity. Took a detour away from risk to try financial statement audit and I'm not feeling connected to the work. Background includes a mix of B4, Top 10, and industry IA and IT Audit. I currently publish thoughtware / white papers for my firm about integrating operational and IT audit for an idea of my perspective.

Are untucked, short-sleeve polos on casual dress pants ok in big 4 tech consulting on non-client facing days? Are jeans with short sleeve polos good? Assuming you only wear dress pants + shirt or a suit on client-facing days
