What are the Big 4? Discussions

I look at the big 4 the same way I look at IPAs: I guess I'm just not sophisticated enough to tell the difference between any of them.

Currently in big 4 consulting, is my salary increases in line with expectations?
New hire: £28k
1 YOE: £32k
2 YOE: £38k
3 YOE: £44k
4 YOE: £49k
5 YOE: 59k

Does this seem abnormally low?

Anyone work at FTI Consulting in Dispute Advisory Services or know anyone that works there and can provide insight on how it compares to Big 4?

Does it matter if you constantly keep moving around Big 4 in Consulting? Does it give any negative perceptions or negative side effects? I'm getting an offer from PwC to go from analyst at Deloitte (38k) to Senior Associate (50k) in just 9 months (1 year) which usually takes people 2 years - should I take it or just wait it out at Deloitte to become Consultant next November (53k)? - Thanks!

👋Tax Senior (1st year) - big 4 (Deloitte) (1st year) - Netherlands. How much?

Those of you in B4, what’s the general workload/climate like right now? Generally quite happy where I am, but B4 came calling and waving a fairly substantial raise for what is functionally the same job that I currently have, but it’s going to have to check off a lot of other boxes. I also don’t want to find myself working double the hours for only a 30-50% raise and unable to actually enjoy my improved cash flow.

I have joined one of the big 4 firm six months before. Now, i am stuck with a toxic manager and wanted to quit, but some of my friends are saying don’t quit so soon. Please help me to decide.

I have been at my B4 IT Audit job for about 5 months and am thinking about putting in my 2 weeks notice after the new year so I got 6 months, I don’t have anything lined up at the moment. My mental health had gotten exponentially worse over the last 5 months. I have no support at work, the hours, work itself are just really hard and boring for the last one. I should have never taken.I’ve always had existing mental health issues but the amount that is required to give on my projects is too much.

Is it normal for people to pivot into banking after 1-2y at B4 consulting? Looking to make a switch and wondering if MBA is necessary

I started at a new firm this year in January. I had a billable goal that was given to me mid year of around 1750 house for the year. I am nowhere near that and definitely will not meet the goal. I had so many non billable hours I was forced to take when I first came in. I worked my ass off in busy season. At my previous firm I never fell short of hours as it was B4. This firm is mid sized and more focused on WLB. My question is how bad do you think this will affect my comp??

I don't think I would want a career in this as I feel it would require coding at some point which I don't want to.

On the other hand, I'm looking to switch my domain into Product Management.. currently don't have any offer or experience related to PM role.

I'm confused if should I go with the offer in hand or wait till I get a PM role.

I worked for an investment bank for 7 years - 4 years in operations and rest all in risk profile. I have a daughter of 1.5 years and they were calling me to office, so had to leave my job.
Now I am giving interviews for last 6 months , stating that I have got all exp related to Risk profile only, I have given too many interviews but didn't cleared anything from big 4 to product / service based companies. I am looking for wfh option and against 6.5 , I am asking for 10-12 lpa, is it too much?

Why do so many say that it’s not a good idea staying at the Big 4 long term?

Consulting makes me feel like I’m starting a new job every few months as I enter a new organization.
But my husband wants me to stick it out being in a Big 4😩

Double major in accounting and finance with a skillset that can succeed in the field. Just need to find a way to obtain the opportunity because cold applying on the company websites isn’t cutting it.
