How do you maintain good morale towards work after a disappointing conversation?

Context: was up for promo this year but my counselor told me to wait for mid-year. I had the backing of the partners that I work with. At this point I know I’m not getting a promotion. Which is fine, I guess. I am just having a hard time adding things to my plate. I had nearly 120% utilization this year and heavily involved in firm things. I don’t do as much BD work as I should. At this point, I can’t add more

Seeking advice: I am a young sales consultant and sales engineer working for a tech startup company. I have 6 years of sales experience. And I have been helping run my family business for the past 10 years. I was intially interviewed for a senior account executive position at a $70k offer. Instead they told me I needed more training and hired me as a Junior account executive at a $50k salary + commission. Today is my 6th month mark and I have done very well. hey, I joined Deloitte in June 2020 as an GPS SA analyst, I just staffed on internal project only providing me adjusted utilization. Now my standard util is 40 and my adjusted is 105... and this project last in another month... by then my standard util might be 20.. will my promotion be affected by this? Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."
