To the credit card gurus: does it make sense to drop a chase sapphire reserved to the next lower card given my situation? I already have the Freedom Unlimited, left consulting years ago so I don't travel for work, not planning on personal travel either much this upcoming year because of covid, almost all my transactions are on the CSR totaling ~$1k/month, and want to minimize expenses since I'm in school now.

I just barely started at my firm and got staffed on a project which requires travel. My firm only allows me to expense hotels on a personal card, everything else goes on the corporate Amex. I’ve had a venture one card for 2 years now but am thinking about getting the chase sapphire reserve. Kind of lost here - any advice?

leaving the firm and want to transfer my AmEx points to a new personal AmEx, because I don’t feel like I’ll be doing much travel soon. I already have the Chase Sapphire Preferred - what AmEx should I get? Blue? Gold?

Any good reason to keep Chase Sapphire Reserve now that the points is Chase freedom is about the same?

Any Chase Sapphire Reserve card members receive a personal phone call from their local Chase (local number too)? The person asked about my experience, but I said I was not aware of personal phone calls being made and did not feel comfortable talking any further. He then asked to send me an email as proof that he is affiliated with Chase. I then hung up. So weird.

Booking honeymoon soon. Any suggestions on opening a card to get a nice sign up bonus? Already have Chase Sapphire and Hilton Surpass Amex card. TYIA

Now that the Chase Freedom Unlimited is getting 3% cash back on dining and 5% on travel, is it still worth keeping the CSR?

Have you guys used the "Pay yourself back" option in Chase Sapphire Reserve? What is this? Are you essentially paying for dining and grocery with points? It looks like I can pick transactions from 90 days ago, is just just credit applied to the card?

About to make some big furniture purchases and looking for a new card with great intro offer. Considering Chase Bonvoy for 100k Marriott points or Chase Sapphire Preferred for 60k chase points. I actually use my Marriott points and will run out if we don’t resume biz travel soon so I’m leaning towards Marriott. What do you guys think?

Also I already have a platinum amex and some other random cards.

Shift from Development Consulting to Management Consulting, how to?

I am currently working with a Big 4 as a part of the Social Consulting team. We primarily consult corporates/corporate foundations/philanthropic orgs. in
- expanding CSR portfolios
- monitor and evaluate projects
- strategize and implement CSR projects

I want to shift to a more core consulting role and firm such as MBB. How can I?

Reasons- higher pay, interest, MBB entry

Anyone been successful at negotiating a lower fee for the CSR? Thinking about canceling or dropping down to one of the other cards.

What’s your average credit card bill per household? Are we overspending based on our income? We have a Chase Sapphire with a $30k limit and a Chase Freedom with $10k limit. Chase Sapphire gets us (among other things) 3% back on travel + dinning and we put absolutely everything else (except mortgage) on Freedom for 1.5% back. We pay them both off each month.

I am booking an United Flight using miles. There is a $10 additional charge to miles. I have chase sapphire reserve, United Explorer Mileage plus and AMEX Platinum cards. Which card should I use or should I split between 3 cards even to get all coverage like extra baggage, upgrade and missing baggage protection?
