Longest time you have waited between the final interview/writing assignment and job offer ?

Currently interviewing for new roles….
HR at an agency was an hour late to our call and was totally unprepared. He didn’t even know what role I had applied for. HR for a client side role is over an hour late right now and hasn’t responded back to my email asking if she still plans to chat.
I get that meetings and emergencies come ip, but at least give the candidates a heads up.

Last week an internal recruiter finally gave me an update on an interview I had some time ago and said I would get an offer by the end of the week. I haven’t heard from her yet, shall I wait or follow up?

My last interview was 6 days ago and I haven’t heard anything since then. Ghosted?

How do you delay timelines when it comes to accepting an offer? About to get offered a very okay job, but I’m interviewing at other places i’d prefer to work at.

What has 2 fingers and has been ghosted by Droga and Martin? This guy! Has that happened to anyone else with these 2 shops after a ton of interviews?

What types of questions should I be prepared to answer to brand managers in an interview for a media manager? Likely behavioral based- what types of things do they care about?

Should I take an interview for a role brand side that I have no intention on accepting?

My client has been hinting at me moving brand side to work on his team. He even asked a former colleague to gauge my interest.

The issue is that I would be making significantly less money ($30k) and have a much lower title. I really just want to interview to meet more people in the organization, but I’m worried my agency will find out and it would put a bad taste in my clients mouth if he finds out.

Anybody ever been ghosted after a final round interview?

My agency is fully embracing the remote/WFH-first model. I’ve never been happier as I get to be fully present as a wife and mom. I’m turning down interest/interviews from positions with higher salaries. I make on the lower end for CDs ($170k) so I worry that I’m putting my family at a disadvantage by turning down opps going for $50-100k more than I’m making now. Am I crazy? I feel conflicted.

I got 7 interviews deep for a role in-house at a company that I'd really like to work for. They said they'd keep me in mind for future openings in the department.
It's been 4 months and I haven't heard about any opening roles. They do have a role that is tangentially related to my skill-set (would be a stretch for me, but maybe in a good way?), but I'm concerned that shooting for this and missing might reflect badly for an opening that would be more in my wheelhouse.

Any general advice for a designer that is interviewing for an Art Director position?

I just got an email from an agency that I interviewed with early this year about an open position (a more senior role, this time) that they think I’d be a good fit for. Weird thing is, last time they rejected me in favor of someone with more experience. How do I go about this? Do I mention the rejection? It’s a different recruiter at the same agency.

Help needed! Asking for a Brazilian friend who just recently had his O-1 visa approved (first one after an OPT). he got started on a couple jobs, but he’s always getting stuck on the “your I-94 is expired” issue. Some lawyers told him to leave the country, but he can’t seem to schedule an interview in any US consulates, as most are still closed/not taking non emergency cases due to covid. Has anyone been through this situation or have any tips on how to work around it? Thank you!

VCCP - who’s the founder who was infamous for making young women sit in a swing chair and pose for him when he interviewed them? Notorious lech. Lots of (now) senior women talk about it so must have been commonplace around early 2000’s

Why do ppl advise against including a job on your resume if you were only there 6mos or less? That would mean you’d have to lie about how long you were at the place before that or lie about what you’ve done during the time in between. Why not just say it didn’t work out because of XYZ?

Why does the employee have to take the hit b/c an employer lied during the interview process. Or it just ended up not being a great fit. Doesn’t make the employee a flake. Am I missing something?

Is it common for employment agencies to reach out to you, but never actually get you a job or an interview?

The recruiter started our conversation venting about a referral who was grossly under qualified.
This immediately shifted to the agency does not follow industry standard titles. They are all very senior...so I should consider a much more junior role (they hadn't talked more about the role at hand).
After talking of my experience they then summed me up as a "media person" and I had to correct that I never worked at a media agency.

I find it strange when people run their interviews like” I’m here to answer any questions you have” especially in the first round of interviews, rather than proactively running the interview. Do others have this experience?

Instead of having an interview today, the senior strategists took the 30 minutes to explain to me why I should stay in my current role and will pick somebody with more experience for a junior strategists role. She contributes to how hard it is for juniors to break into strategy.

Any advice for an informal group interview to “meet the team”? Going to be a Zoom with 10ish people, hopefully not just grilling me 😬.

What to say in future interviews if you were let go? (not for behavior, policies, anything like that at all)

Is it bad to mention that you are looking to move into a role to get promoted earlier than a year when you join a new company in an interview? I am few months away from being a GAS or associate account director based on yoe.

Just had my 3rd interview last Thursday, with my potential AD partner. Haven’t heard anything back since. Should I assume they’ve moved on or is this pretty normal? They rushed me through all the interviews and the first CD gave my book more compliments than Ive had in an interview, so part of me thought it’d be quicker. Dying to find FT now as freelancing for the last year has been rough.

How can I impress the senior strategist I am about to soon interview with for a junior strategy role? The role is opened cause the account is in a place to train and mentor a junior. I have 3 months of strategy experience from my internship, but going up against people that have 1 year of strategy experience and scarred they would want them more since they have the experience and don’t have to train them that much.

Working with a recruiter from Edelman about a series of interviews for their Sr. Resource Manager position for the western region, mainly supporting their Seattle office/resources. Any advice or tips from anyone at Edelman that can shed light on their culture, the workflow of resources. Are people getting burned out over there? Welp, I think my dream agency ghosted me. After my interview, I was told I’d hear back. It’s well past the date they mentioned and after a couple of follow-ups, just silence. How do you deal with handling such a disappointment? I’ve been ghosted by companies many times, but it’s an even bigger bummer when it’s somewhere you’ve heard nothing but good things about.

Any one else having a really hard time communicating with recruiters during the interview process lately? I’m getting ghosted, ignored and/or given misinformation about timelines and next steps. I’ve been on the hiring manager side and know that things change and are equally frustrating but just shocked at how I’m being treated as a candidate for roles I’m being strongly considered for.

If I don’t hear back within a week after my interview, do I assume I didn’t get it or can I follow up without looking desperate?

I was just offered to get a promoted offer (from AS to VP,AD) at a different company, but I have been wanting to transition off to non-advertising gigs especially pharma. Does it make sense to sign the new offer first and keep searching, or get out when I can out of advertising?

I took the interview a while ago thinking I still wanted to be in advertising but had gradual shift in heart..

Thoughts on "unlimited PTO"? I'm interviewing at a place that keeps bringing it up as a benefit. They say that corporate supports people taking a week to two weeks off.
Maybe I'm cynical, but I've heard that at companies that offer this this, people rarely use the PTO or the PTO is rarely approved. What have your experiences been with this?

POC creative interviewing at an agency in Portland. I actually never knew about how white Portland is, (around 80% white) until I did some research. I’m used to pretty diverse cities like LA/NY/CHI. Any POCs living/working in agencies in Portland share your thoughts?
