I think I bombed a case interview with Chartis for an associate consultant position. The case was in excel and required me to manipulate the data via share screen with the interviewer. I couldn’t get some functions to work and was struggling to go through the 16 page PDF of data. I had several answers correct but needed to walk through the remaining questions with some guidance. My other 3 case interviews went well and I had great conversation with the partner for behavioral interview. Thoughts?

Have been hunting desperately for childcare bc spouse and I are both FT lawyers trying to handle 4 immunocompromised elementary age kids at home but have been striking out. Have even been considering having one of us take a leave, going part time (career suicide/knock us off partner track) or quitting. Just found someone highly recommended, experienced, patient, etc. Interview went super well but candidate disclosed they are in recovery for substance abuse, last relapse 2 yrs ago. DUI. Thoughts?

What is the content of these interviews? What do they look for? How can I prepare? I don’t have much technology my background, so a little worried going into the interview. Any advice please?

Currently in audit and want to switch to transaction services. I’m a senior now and an offer from accounting advisory just came in. I tried applying to TAS but no returns from it. Will it be easier to switch to TAS from accounting advisory?

I have an interview for an in house position (only attorney) at a small non-profit focused on conservation easements. I am a transactional associate at a mid sized law firm. The prospect of freedom from the billable hour and contributing to meaningful work are the draws. The cons are that while the salary at the non-profit would only be slightly less than what I am making now, pay increases and opportunities for advancement will be much less than where I am now. Thoughts on making the shift?

Anyone have any advice or insight on interviewing for a GS General Attorney position? I’m really excited and working to prepare for an interview I’ve been offered. It’s 3 part, on one day. 2 one on one interviews and a panel interview. For reference, it’s a position in an agency that’s involved in both trade and national security. Next week I’m having my first lateral interview as a junior associate. I’m very nervous because the group with whom I’m interviewing works with life science/tech clients and the attorneys have strong science/tech backgrounds; and I do not. However, I am very, very interested in transitioning to this practice. And I reaaally want this job because it’s at my dream firm. How would you recommend preparing for the lateral interview?

Hey Fishes, Need your genuine advice. I am a 3 year old experienced Software Engineer working in an MNC, earning around 14+ lpa. I do like what I’m doing right now but is it still worth it to do a full-time higher studies or is there any part time courses I can move to? If Yes, can you please suggest?

Looking at my friends going for higher studies abroad or even in India is making me panic as If I’ve been left behind.

What’s your take on why depression/anxiety is so prevalent in consulting?

Do you think it’s possible for depression to just ‘go away’? All the triggers are still there but the depression isn’t?
