At my current agency 6 mos and realized I’m burnt out on ad. My coworker’s wife started at what sounds like my dream job a few months ago. Is it okay to ask for an informational interview through him?

My spouse is in the final stages of interviews for a non-ad job in Minneapolis. Obviously I'm on board, and it would mean leaving my full time gig.

Have few connections, I'd love more if possible.

I am applying for AD positions in Pharma after 13 mo. of Jr AD under my belt. My design portfolio is strong (digital and print), but my concepting work is lacking. Will this be a deal breaker?

Thoughts on being asked to do a test project post interview? Sr AD with a portfolio to back it up. Responded saying I could do it at my freelance rate, they replied back saying since it's not a "real project" they wouldn't pay for it.

So I told myself I was gonna enroll in Miami Ad school come January if I didn't break into Strategy first. I did break in, at a creative agency, too (ignore my outdated title). But as an intern. And I'm doing comms instead of brand. Do you think the school is still worth doing? Or can I just be vocal with the comms people about my interest in brand? I said it in the interview. I’ve been trying to get into The Walt Disney Company for years and can’t seem to make any progress. Had one of the largest ad agencies offer me a job, but the market is $15k + higher. Is it too crazy to ask them to match the low end of the other interviews I’m taking or should I be prepared for them to be pretty rigid/and to walk?

Interviewing at Accenture in two areas next week: Account Manager Creative and Brand Marketing and
Content Experience Manager at Accenture Interactive

The former sounds exactly like what I do now at an ad agency but on the in house agency team with Accenture being the “client”. Lots of execution work. The latter is more about answering RFPs for existing clients and developing some strategy and like 30% execution. I’m leaning toward the CEM role.

They rushed me through all the interviews and the first CD gave my book more compliments than Ive had in an interview, so part of me thought it’d be quicker. Dying to find FT now as freelancing for the last year has been rough.

How do I get my foot into the door in other industries as a data analyst with an internship at an ad agency? I’ve been applying a lot and haven’t gotten any interviews. Any advice?
